Hey there,
I´m encountering following problem for 2 weeks now. Support ticket was closed with statement "thanks, we investigate this issue with our technical team, please be patient", so this post is more about a go-around solution if someone already knows how to solve this problem by my own.
I got for whatever reason the orange dot in the upper right corner under direct messages, indicating unread messages without having unread messages. Upon opening it, shows Direct messages (4), but i do not have any. If i get a new message, it says (5), upon reading it, it goes back to (4). I have not ignored users, nor I see the 4 unread messages. It is not a big deal but very annoying, always seeing aorange dot. I never know if there is a new message coming up or not. I had this problem 4 weeks ago, it solved by itself after 2 days, but now its 2 weeks. Maybe some of you have a solution for this and also encountered this problem. I tried cache, browser history, browser itself, log in - log out, open the direct messages in a new window, click all chats a second time and scroll through chat history.

Thanks for any help.

I’m pretty sure I’ve complained on here about this (or similar) few years ago. Except it wasn’t Chaturbate…it was on Stripchat. And yes, it was very annoying being told that I have unread messages when I do not.

I hate when it happens on social media platforms too (on the private messenger).

Yeah i saw your post and it was SC, thats why i posted this one, wondering if anyone on CB had the same issues. I don´t know how it behaves as a broadcaster, but as a viewer (who is maybe getting 1 message a day it´s pretty frustrating. I always check the inbox to see if someone messaged me. Thanks for your input :)

It happened to me a few times recently. Lasted for a couple of days then stopped happening. Reoccurred again and then once again vanished.

I had something like this happen, but it was months back.
It was because someone I had put on ignore had sent a few messages; the system recognised those messages were unread, but didn't display them to me.
If you have ignored any users, I'd try removing the ignore and see if you then have messages in your inbox.

I have already removed all ignored users. And it helped the first time i encountered this issue, now it seems to not help. thanks for you input, i hope it will resolve by its own

I can't remember to be honest. I do know it resolved itself eventually. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it's seriously impeding your enjoyment.
Thanks for you input, yeah its impacting me quite a bit, because i often recieve messages from long-time known broadcasters to meet for pvt shows and now i always check the inbox.
I wonder if support can just "hard-reset" my inbox and then the problem is gone, but seems not be the case :D
