The pay period ended on a weekend so banks wouldn't have started processing payments until today. And because direct deposit takes a couple of days to go through, it won't process the first business day.

The answer to "When will I get my money?" if you're a US Model using direct deposit is:

the third business day of the new pay-period. Business days are Mon-Fri. If Mon is a bank holiday and the first day of the new pay-period is a Saturday, then the third business day could be the following Thursday (the 6th or the 21st).

Thus, the 1st and the 16th are the first day, but not necessarily the first Business day.

Edit: sometimes, if you're a new model and no one else at your bank has ever had direct deposit with MFC, it can take a little longer. This is because when a bank gets a direct deposit from someplace they've never heard of, they have to verify that the money is actually there before they'll allow it to be used. In that case, it can take up to 10 business days to get your money, but really shouldn't take more than 5 (one full week).
