So I've been camming for almost a year off and on and this entire time I've fostered a fake identity... a fake name, a fake backstory, going to college for a different major than I actually am (but one I can still talk about relatively easily). I don't want to get into specifics because I don't want to blow my cover.

Is this something you consider immoral? I still allow my actual personality to flow through my shows because I feel like the personality is anyone's greatest asset, but I've sort of created this fantasy of a formerly religious 18 year old who is a virgin and pure when I'm not a virgin and I'm not pure and I've never been reliigous.

It totally works for tips but I feel like I'm manipulating my viewers, who are really nice to me, and that I'm exploiting the sexual repression for monetary gain. I'm obviously fetishizing sexual repression for the sake of my viewers and some part of me feels some type of way about that but the other part enjoys the money that I get from it and that I am able to divulge information about 'myself' without having to actually divulge information to my viewers.

On cam, you're playing a fantasy--also nearly everyone uses fake names. I also work on a phone sex site and it's very common several girls have entirely different characters (rich lonely wives, college virgins, bad ass femdoms--can all be played by the same person). I don't consider it at all immoral the same way actors in movies aren't really the roles they're playing or the guy being seduced in a porno isn't really a pizza guy or the actress's best friend's husband etc. Whether you show a 'real' personality or enjoy playing the virgin--enjoy it, have fun and make $$$.

Some people find an entirely different persona helps with camming. Camming does have a reality feel to it which viewers love, but the harsh truth is many of us are caricatures of what we really are like in real life. Some camgirls are lesbians, asexual or hate masturbating yet will still perform on cam and nothing is wrong with that. Some guys argue that it's unfair & that you're being a liar--but really, they're paying you to entertain them..not to present your entire private life to them.. I don't consider playing a role on cam at all immoral. If you feel bad about it, maybe reinvent your cam image and move away from that.

pfffft... no worries at all. Being incognito is very common and having a cam personna with history etc. is simply another layer of safety for you. Sad to say I have intimate experience with a camgirl and her stalkers all because she thought she could 'trust' these fellas after a few months and some very good tips. They were very convincing and great at selling themselves. Many regrets for "being real" with these guys have taught her that of the hundreds or thousands you might know buy name online, its not really good to let any them into your real life. Never never ever let any of them have any real info about you unless you have no cares of being outed or found.

The thing is, I'm not really using this alternate identity for the purpose of safety, I'm using it for the purposes of getting more tokens. I've had people give me money because they relate to the fake story that I made... they are like "I grew up in a really sexually repressed family and seeing you break free of those shackles is so inspiring and I want to help you get more independent from your bible thumping parents here's a $100 amazon gift card" and I'm just like... I don't know... I don't really feel bad about manipulating the viewers... I moreso feel bad for exploiting certain concepts that had inadvertently caused my viewers to feel bad for me, so the lines between whether they are tipping because they like me or tipping to help me get away from my fake life are very blurred...

In my opinion: do what you gotta do to make money. Everyone lies on their resume, and they end up with well-paying jobs. Just think of it that way.

I don't see what you're doing as wrong per se', how you go about the finer details of your interactions may be...

BUT if it feels wrong to you, stop doing it.

I never knew this was a real thing. Feel like such a square for being honest. Shouldn't complain really, still managed to do alright but still, the fuck man. I thought embellishing your resume was something you only saw on tv or in movies which led to wacky shenanigans.

On topic, taking the pity me route isn't unheard of but long term I would think it's a bad business move. The gimmick would get stale fast but maybe a big enough market for it exists for that not to matter.

Fake name really my name is not busty Bonnie although the amount of guys that think it is lol. Yes my first name is busty and second Bonnie uh huh. As for your persona well it's just that a persona. I wouldn't worry we are in this business to get paid how you go about it, well that's up to the individual.

I am not a model.

I think creating your own persona is fine, and even recommended for security purposes. If it helps you make better tips, go for it! In my opinion, I feel like lying about life situations or tragedies to get tips is way across the line. IE, my goldfish needs a liver transplant, my abusive 3rd grade teacher is threatening me and I need to leave the country, Aunt Rose needs a denture transplant, that sorta shit.

I'd say do whatever you want. These people aren't entitled to your true life story, and you're creating a nice fantasy for them. What's to complain about? Just make sure it's something you can keep up with, but adapt to something if you need to. Like someone said, it can get old, you just wanna be prepared for anything.
