I bought the domains coming up a year. I haven't really done anything with them.

I mostly just cam on streamate and have my voyeur cams available on rude and upload my recorded shows on rude. But I am wondering if having a website is even worth it.

Nothing to extreme just a simple videos and photos and links to my cam shows. I already have my hands full managing my escort website and that persona and business. Camming for me is just so I can keep a float .

I was wondering the same thing! ?? what are the sites like could any of you girls answer these questions? I am far from my own site just saw this and thought that I would put my input.

But as for you girl if you have a ton of vids pics and followers I think it would be worth it ??? :hello2:

I am a terrible example but I have a website and it's just got my links on it (and a thing saying "coming soon" that's been there for....months  ).

I think it is a really handy idea, even if it's just got a picture, a basic "about me", and all of your links. Especially as a Streamate model, I want people to Google me and be able to easily find me. Domains and hosting are pretty cheap now, and it's a good way to help people find you.

You can also create subdomains (like elm.genxoxo.net for example), which can lead to your profiles and include your referral links, for sites that have them. If someone clicks that link and signs up to ExtraLunchMoney, I get some little bonus. You can also use these links to monitor your traffic, say for example if I post my link once a day on Twitter, then a week later start posting it but also including a picture, I can say "hmm my traffic increased when I did that, great, I will do it with pictures more often").

I don't really do much of anything on mine. I host a small "members only" information pamphlet type thing, and I have some basic info available publicly. But mostly the best part about it is I can use it as a redirect for my bring a friend code. It has earned me thousands of tokens where previously I felt uncomfortable posting a long ugly BAF link (or a sketchy tiny url type thing) when I tweeted that I was online. :)

If you ONLY cam on Streamates, then a member site may or may not be worth it. to advertise my website live on cam (which is the BEST way to advertise it, hands down), I had to start camming more on MyFreeCams.

But it also depends on what you want out of your site. If you only want it as a placeholder that has some pretty photos of you, and links to your sites & your twiiter, then it is for sure worth it.

A member's site is only worth it if you think you can get the member's. I love my member's site but am still struggling with member count because I was camming consistently on SM for two years and am still building up on MFC. Now, if you have a large twitter following, then it's a gamble whether it will be worth it or not.

But, ultimately you decide if it's "worth it" or not depending on what you expect out of it and want to use it for.

There are 2 good uses I think of for a model to have a simple domain of their own. One is getting around link blocking on promotional forums for models. Myfreecams links especially, because of BAF link spammers, are filtered out so they can't be posted on many adult forums. You can post a link to your domain, and then have your MFC room link or BAF link on your site, to avoid that. The 2nd good use is hosting your own images rather than relying on a free image host. If you're not trying to promote yourself a lot of places, then a site would be of little use to you though. For a site like that, you can get by with the bare minimum hosting package. But don't forget to add a domain by proxy / anonymous domain ownership option. You don't want people doing a WhoIs search on your domain & getting all your personal information.

If you're going to have a pay site for monthly subscription members, you should really have an affiliate program. That way a lot of other adult website owners will help promote your site. Otherwise, you're likely to lack the traffic needed to make the time & money you invest in your site worth it. If your site takes memberships through an adult billing processors like CCBill or Epoch, it makes setting up an affiliate program a lot easier. Those 2 companies provide affiliate program tools. But if you want to succeed at it, you really have to be committed to it. Rarely are subscription sites that successful right away, they take time to gain exposure & build a fan base. There are a lot of models who get into site contracts with photographers & web designers, don't immediately strike it rich, then quit after a few months. :snooty:

So I thought about it and this is what I came up with .

I know I have been online in the skin trade for 10 years, and I still don't have my own member paysite. I have my escort website which is for a different business but I don't have to worry about billing and updating regular content as often as you would a porn/tiny member site for let's say a cam model or amateur porn star.
I have come across many website services who offer you a membersite and billing take a percentage of sales and have a long standing online community.
Southern-Charms
http://www.dreamnet.com/sw/become-a-dreamgirl/
http://www.wildrosenetwork.com/
http://wjwebdesigns.com/recruit.shtml
http://www.southern-charms.com/emailwebmaster.html
http://edivamedia.com/

or go to the route hire a design design hustle she is a life saver she created my niteflirt page 10 years ago I am thinking of hiring her again to design my cam girl site. and then use payments with verotel or zombaio.

So I thought I would sign up for ModelCentro come to find out I can not put my script code for my rude voyeur cams or my online status button for streamate or niteflirt. which is something I use pretty regularly the features on rude are geared for people who own their own websites or have a platform where a member site is possible for them.

I attempted to do the Streamate Gold Club and it got me thinking what really is in a member site. videos, photos, live cam shows maybe phone sex. Now my life took some turns, bumps and pitfalls so I get it things happened where running a site for the full 10 years I've been online just wasn't completely possible, plus I could figure out how to make content. I live alone no help with making videos. Plus I had this idea in my head that video had to be with fancy lights and a fancy camera from the videos I was hired to do in hopes I would have a site.
I also have had bad experiences with porn companies claiming they will make a website for me if I shot some content for them my young years of being dumb and falling for the fame pitch got me.

As it ifriends, streamate, cams offer a "fan club" for your members they get charged a fee you get a % and then get access to what videos and photos and when your cam schedule. If you have been camming regularly for a year you are pretty much giving and creating content and fans out there are in LOVE with you, and if this is a full-time job for you then yes having a website even it just a small wordpress setup is important.

Now I am wondering if I am too old to give it ago but then I remember there is a niche and market for everyone and if your going to be online and put yourself out there you should be getting as much money as possible.

I don't own minniestclaire.com and I gave up camgirlminnie.com so now my only chance of having a space I own on the net is to buy my own domain and make it a small space for me on the net that I own and it is truly mine. I haven't figure out billing I was thinking using verotel or zombaio, also I am thinking to get content made to hire a photographer and if I need guys to be stunt cocks put some ads out in a few places I already advertise for being an escort.

Now it's just a matter of saving up for a HD camera nothing to fancy something that can record in Mp4 and have good video quality and dgital camera and try and figure out how to be a master XXX selfies.

The site I used and that other camgirls on this forum have used is adultmembersites.com This company was started by a camgirl, and while she's not with the business anymnore, Kris does a good job of keeping everything running.

tjshouse.ca
jolenebrody.com
violetoctober.com
chasitymerlow.com
emmasfeet.com

Those are all sites created by adultmembersites.

They do the site for free and just take a percentage of membership sales. But all you have to worry about is your videos and members shows. And there's a promotion with Jolene Brody's production company - if you're an AMS girl, her company will edit your videos for you for a percentage of what your site makes. And then all you have to worry about shooting the videos and sending them to her.

Of course, you go the route that is best for you. But if you decide to contact them, I can give you a referral code. :)

Sent in my application looks like I am being rejected because I only do cam work on SM.

This whole create a website is just becoming a worthless idea. I could try again with southern-charms but they only want exclusive content.

Might be easier if I have a friend or boyfriend around to help with taking digital photos of me and maybe even do the filming, but nope there is no one around I could trust and who would understand this is work and not some way for them to use it to try and proposition themselves on me. I even thought I could ask the ex but I really hate this guts for what he did a few years back.

Just going with the idea of making it yourself and throwing a few things out there for you to think about. Not sure how well this would work with live streaming. But for photo galleries, video downloading, blogging, forums... stuff of that nature this could work for you if just want to get something going.

iPage does pretty good prices and has quite a few features.

For building the site yourself i don't actually recommend those online site builders. The one I use and love is SiteSpinner software. They have a regular one for $49 and a pro version that can also do mobile site coding for $99.
http://www.virtualmechanics.com/products/index.html
Make as many websites as you want - A one-time purchase of SiteSpinner enables you to create as many websites as you want, with as many pages per website as you want.

You don't need to know how to code - SiteSpinner is easy to use website design software - move anything anywhere with the click of your mouse.

No need for image editing software - Change the size or properties of pictures directly in the SiteSpinner work-window.

No need for a paint separate program - Create shapes, backgrounds. Add shading or transparency.

No need for FTP software - Publish directly from SiteSpinner to your web host. Everything is automatically gathered up and published.

Templates - SiteSpinner web design software includes quality templates for you to use to build your site.

Create mouse-over effects, create Forms, Spell Check your pages and more!

Get Stuck, Get Help - Get all the help you need. We provide ongoing, unlimited online support.

Also, do you have a college nearby that has computer degrees? Have you thought about talking with them (or teachers there) to recommend a kid in college that seems to be good at website programming? I know it sounds scary to just talk to a random kid like that. But if you step back and look at what you wrote in your post, it looks like you're not having much luck with the 'professionals.' And most of them don't sound any better than some random perv off the street. A student looking for a side job and experience to help out while he's just starting out might be a good option. Just a thought.

Now for recording content. I know you mentioned saving up for a good HD cam. Consider that for under $100 you can get one that will do everything you mentioned.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-DV150...94086&sr=1-3&keywords=samsung+cameras+digital

The reasons I think it's ideal are: it does pretty good quality pictures, good in low light, has two LCD screens so you can see what the picture will look like as it is aimed toward you, records in the mpeg format. It also does 720p. Many models will tell you that you have to get 1080p but then so many of them later discover they have to spend time after recording to dumb down the size of their video files. 2GB for a 6 minute clip is just not needed. (there's threads on that on the forum already). By recording in 720p it's already a very good file size, while still being crystal clear when maximized on large screen TV's. Oh, and it's around $100. This one is $90 and another seller has it for $125. So it's something that's quite affordable.
Also there are apps you can install on your phone or tablet that let your device become a remote viewfinder and take the shot. So you can see exactly what your camera is going to take, set the time delay, tell it to take the picture from your phone and then still have time to hide the device out of the picture before it takes it. You mentioned having to have help take photo's, this is a great solution for doing it yourself.

16.2-Megapixel Sensor for Crisp, Detailed Photos
Dual LCDs for Perfect Self-Portraits
Connect to Your Smartphone for More Features
Captures 720p HD-quality MPEG movies

Would all this be as snazzy and have all the bells and whistles of a professional made site? No.
But it would cost considerably less, allow you to have a lot of control over it, make doing it yourself more manageable and get your foot in the door.

It definitely IS really hard to promote sites on SM.

I am still thinking to go with southern-charms. I am just not sure how to go about photos and videos. I have no camera equipment expect my cannon power and shoot kinda hard to take good "selfies" with.

I saw a video done by a fellow model who took her photos by herself with a timer and this whole set up.

http://videobam.com/xrkrP#.U8xDlGemXMo.twitter But I have no clue what equipment she has to put it all together.

I guess I have to hire a photographer but then that can be expensive plus where do I look to find one and who isn't creepy. sometimes this solo kick is really stressing me out. Wish I had a boyfriend around so I could put him to work that way I could have someone available to shoot content and be a stunt cock too.

Maybe I should just give up on wanting a website since I do not have the resources or man power to pull it off.

It's actually not that hard to self-shoot photos with the right equipment and some practice. She basically has her lights and camera set up to fire when she triggers them with a remote (or timer, but remote is easier). To do this you'll need a DSLR, strobe lighting/stands, wireless triggers, a tripod, and a backdrop set if so required. If you don't want to buy strobes, you can use a continuous lighting kit, it just might not be quite as nice.

There are a whole bunch of tips and tricks to make it easier, but that's the basic equipment set up.

The trickiest parts, I think, are learning how to do a variety of angles, getting your focus right and getting good lighting.

^^ All self-shot using a similar method.
Forgive the nudity-- apparently I believe in self-shooting clothed photos, lol.

Oh! Thanks for updating! I actually had no idea that they had changed their policies since I signed up. I definitely understand them charging the $2500. I know they probably still haven't broken even on my site. As of right now, I have about 8 members at a time.
