People that complain about their food, JUST to get it for free. When I do complain I still tip the waitress, it isn't their fault the food sucked, and I refuse to let them give it to me for free, even if I couldn't eat it.

Ha! Maybe. I think the word "classy" has changed a lot in how we use it. A "class act" is someone who does something really cool for other people without regard to any loss to him/herself. 100 years ago, it would only have referred to social class and people's ancestry, etc. The words trashy and classy may not even be compatible as a broad comparison of humans and their behavior.

Ha! Maybe. I think the word "classy" has changed a lot in how we use it. A "class act" is someone who does something really cool for other people without regard to any loss to him/herself. 100 years ago, it would only have referred to social class and people's ancestry, etc. The words trashy and classy may not even be compatible as a broad comparison of humans and their behavior.

I think the meanings have changed a bit.

LOL Not me!!! I believe if you pay for a service and/or product, and it isn't the way it was supposed to be, they better take it back and make it right and/or give a refund (or at least a discount). It's only good business to do so.
I mean, shouldn't every establishment be given the chance to redeem themselves by making sure that the customer is satisfied, and therefore return? I believe it's only far, on both sides of the spectrum.

The thing is, that so many people complain to get free stuff, that when you do complain they think, "Oh, just another broke bitch trying to get out of her tab." By me paying, I show them that there really was a problem and a free tab was not what I wanted. They take it more seriously that way.

Precisely. It's not a dilemma between the two because they're not mutually exclusive - multiple personality complexes allow for that.

I agree with both of you. It should only be free if it's inedible/a health hazard, or that they can't fix it. It should be paid for if they can rectify the issue quickly. It's standard practice to replace sub-par, dissatisfactory food.

e.g. I order a medium rare steak, I get a well-done.

I politely inform the staff, and they return with another steak, except it's raw this time.

I complain and can reasonably expect a discount/replacement/refund, because they can't be trusted to fix their food. If they fixed it first time, I would apologize for the inconvenience of requesting the waiter to give me the extra-attention.

I think that it's perfectly classy to be assertive, and request a replacement or something when you're brought a meal that is not what you ordered, or disgusting.
But it is a good point that some people can be trashy about it, and complain just to get free stuff when they really didn't think there was anything wrong with it.
If it's not right, don't eat it, don't pay for it. If you ate the sandwich, you no longer have the right to complain or ask for it free, because well, it obviously isn't so bad if it's already in your tummy (complaining about food poisoning would be an exception to that lol).

I smoke pall malls, drink PBRs, curse loudly in public, talk about sex in inappropriate situations, wear ripped up clothing with stains, spent much of my life living in a trailer, and sometimes my hair is greasy and I just don't give a damn. Being trashy is about behaviour and attitude. To be white trash is to associate yourself with a specific culture that's accepted to be the accurate representation of 'white trash'. Some qualities do intermingle, but not as much as you think.

I'd say Classy & Trashy are the two opposite ends of the spectrum, so many people fall somewhere in the middle. Most would be considered "normal" because everyone has a bit of each. It's most noticeable when a person falls on one or the other end of the spectrum. It's fun to get a glimpse of someone who isn't typically trashy acting that way, though.

Example. A girl wearing red lipstick often times looks classy. A normal girl would wear it and you would perhaps see her as slightly more classy. But as soon as the red lipstick starts to feather and smear, it would almost seem as if her class is disappearing right before your eyes. Goes back to social expectations and how simple things can change your perception of a person.

I feel like most everything else has been covered in here. Classy used to be social "class" now while that still can have an effect on our perception of someone, we take a classy demeanor to be more value that a classy LOOKING exterior.

Just my opinion, but everyone seems to have a pretty good grasp of trashy and non-trashy, with slight variations. However, I haven't seen a good explanation of classy. Not being shy about expressing my opinion, nor fearful of being wrong, I offer the following as an example of classy:

A person who finds themself in a difficult situation and can rise above the pettiness of others and can maintain their own decorum. Who walks away from the situation, no matter the outcome, neither demeaning the other party nor making a spectacle of themself.

Classiness, as opposed to class, has nothing to do with socioeconomic factors, dress, body art/piercings, race, gender or age. It is about composure, decency and relating to other human beings in a respectful manner regardless of their own or the other person's "class".

I tend to define trashy verses classy, not so much by how well dressed, or well spoken someone is, but rather how they behave, or act.... I don't care how good looking, well dressed, well educated, or how rich someone is... if they're sleazy with how they behave, or are untrustworthy, I'm gonna label them as trashy in my mind and won't have much use for them... I've known some fairly successful people in my day that were part of the "in crowd", but were absolute snakes and would screw someone over simply for the amusement of it.... on the flip side I've known some pretty poorly educated, and financially poor individuals that had hearts of gold, and would do anything to help someone out... so to me it's more about the persons character than any sort of superficial characteristics

As far as what makes up trashy in camming... for a model it's one that has no standards and will do anything for a token (like destroy their anus or do something nasty like a poop show)... one that just manufactures a lot of unnecessary drama... or just flat out tokens whores... for the members it's either the guys that try to scam models... or the non-tipping attention whores that has to be the center of attention with everything that goes on in a room... lol... basically trolls

I went clubbing with a pretty good looking rich guy (strictly platonic, other friends were meeting us up) and he was FARTING in the car right next to me the whole time and blamed it on drinking a healthy shake. He didn't even try to hold it in. He was just ripping ass, and this guy is a multi-millionaire. TRASHY!!!!

yeah, anyone that thinks money makes a person classy has some confused priorities in my opinion... my 1st wife owned her own company & made a lot of money between the time we started dating, and the time we divorced... while we were dating, she became a bit of a social social climber... and wound up with a lot of very rich friends by the time we got married... I honestly couldn't stand most of her friends, because many of them were snobby, rude, acted like their shit didn't stink, and only had a use for people that were similar to them... out of her crowd a very prominent Tax Attorney & his trophy wife were probably the worst of the worst.... The two of them were absolutely superficial, drama filled, game playing, white trash that had to much time & money for their own good... They lived in a multi-million dollar home... drove high end cars... wore expensive clothes and expensive jewelry... they were massive snobs, petty as hell, played the dumbest games with people for control and dominance, and generally behaved like everyone around them were servants... after hanging out with them for an evening, i always felt like i needed a shower because their attitudes were so sleazy... I will admit, after being exposed to that life style... I do crack up at the posers that live from paycheck to paycheck, but think they're big shots, or "masters of the universe" because they drive an Escalade, or rent a nice apartment

I do warn the readers though - it is referring back to prolapse, so if you have a weak stomach, don't follow the link or Google the term. It's not even reverse psychology - just don't do it.

I'm middle class trash, I took the wheels off my trailer and built a roof and an addition on it.

Then I built a 3rd addition on it that was suppose to be a garage but ended up a barn. So yeah the door in the laundry room opens directly into a horse stall.

There is a difference. I come from white trash. So I guess I'm sort of white trashy. But I like to think that some of my white trash family is classy in a way My father is a weird mixture of redneck and hippie and hes one of the nicest coolest most hardworking guys I know. He's accepting of everyone and he would do anything to help out a friend. Yet his girlfriend is a lazy cunt (sounds harsh but if you knew the woman you'd say it to) shes the epitome of white trash she sits around watching her judge shows all day bitching about money but wont get a job. She gets drunk and starts shit with everyone yelling and screaming in the street in her holey tshirt and long cloth shorts and clown makeup. If she does do anything nice for anyone she always makes sure to call all of her friends and make sure to tell them what an amazingly nice person she is. Shes super trashy white trash, while I consider my dad to be pussy whipped classy white trash
