Is it normal for CB to refer to a new model as a "Basic Member" (and says "You have 0 tokens") on her profile instead of refer to her as a model? Odd.

'basic' is in contrast to 'premium'.

I don't think there's a third alternative like 'model'. it's nothing to do with newness, either. anyone with an account can be a model/broadcaster. there are two types of broadcasters, exhibitionists who can't receive tokens, and verified users who can (all the real models).

if I pay them for a premium account I can PM other people in other people's chatrooms, and PM models rather than only ask for PMs from them. AFAIK that's the only real difference. I don't see any reason why a model would bother to become premium.

Sure a profile can look professional and sure if you're selling videos that's prolly a good thing. But, lotsa profiles with whistles and ding dongs are a pain in the ass that obscure the meat on show. Go go pretty pictures, but personally, well chosen words in a description say a lot more and can include twitter and manyvid links

There are multiple points of view from different angles... there are pros and cons in each of them. Sure, a model can choose to or not to use a fancy profile , same as visitor/tipper --- can choose to read the model's profile/bio or not.
I have read lots of opinions (Ambercutie's too) and anyone who has the ability to think a bit can notice the same facts.
- different platforms/websites have a better coverage for bio/profile visibility
For example MyFreeCams has a subdomain to display model's profile, which means another click away of course when the model is doing a show live the viewer will not miss a second in order to visit the mode's profile page.
The other example is Chaturbate, where the Bio is below the chat section (same page) and this means more exposure , the viewer has to scroll down but doesn't leave the page or open another page.

From your comment I assume you are enjoying MFC platform (I might be wrong) so I understand your point of view.
If any webcam performer thinks that a bio/profile page (designed professionally or not, simple text and some links) is not important and viewers don't give a "flying fuck" ... why they bother using it at all?

In my opinion the profile page/bio page is very important... (fancy design or not).
- if the model is not online and she is on my "wow list" , I can learn/read about her, likes /dislikes, stuff like room rules or maybe buy a video or two.
- the profile page of a model is her "calling card" ... the brand, her image... Personally I do enjoy reading a profile if it has a nice aspect, clean, user-friendly... and if she has some good quality images/photos I know the model is investing in her image, and maybe she wants to aim higher.
(I avoid profiles with photos/selfie-bathroom-mirror showing the model's sexiness but in the background "there's the toilet"...)
A profile page can make the difference between "Yes i'll tip her" or "ok...next model..."
This is my opinion, might be wrong but I'm entitled to have it

Please provide your CB user name and I'd be happy to ask support to send you an email with a W-9 form. Or, you can download one here https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf and submit the completed form to support@chaturbate.com. However, a W-9 is ONLY for US taxpayers, you will need to find the appropriate tax form for wherever you will be broadcasting from and email it to support@chaturbate.com.

The height value doesn't have much importance but the width on the other hand it is important. When a non-logged in user accesses a bio they will see the right margin "cut" ... this is happening only when the design is using a fixed width like 1000px for example.
The best way is to use the percent value which makes the design semi-responsive (width:90%) - and it will never look cut as the width is getting narrow or wider based on the browser's resolution... it is called responsiveness (using fluid width)
A fix will be to use 100% width and maybe re-position the design using margin attribute (margin:120px auto 50px -140px)
120px - top margin
auto - left margin
50px - bottom margin
-140px - negative margin right
And to answer your question, you can use 870px width, it is safe (no cutting edges)
Height has no restrictions

Personally I enjoy all platforms, with or without fancy designs.

... That's why I always suggest using fluid values defined by % -- not fixed width for Chaturbate/Camgasm and full responsive markup for MFC or any other platforms which support that particular type of coding.
Experienced web designers are developing projects for mobile version first...that's the rule.
Yes of course there are eye-hurting, unreadable and basically ugly designs too...and dog barks sometimes --- its common

wow, i need this thread right meow and it's on the front page ^^ so anyway, here's why
historically i've been using photobucket to share images.. it's actually not that great {it was Horribly slow for a couple of weeks}
but it had advantages, the user interface for creating a locked album, but being able to share that album passworded, or direct link an image without people being able to sneak into the other photos on the album {yes, these are probably standard features on many hosting sites, but the interface was so easy for me} sadly, if with that, sometimes i would share screenshots of models with models, things like that.. and the pictures would get deleted for being nsfw, even if it was in a locked album!!?

so recently, photobucket changed their 'third party hosting policy' and they're asking for people with subscribers or money subscriptions for the service.. i logged into my chaturbate profile to see a ton of 'mock images' scattered about.. So, if anyone could help me find a great image hosting site that i can also store and share nsfw images, that would be so greatly appreciated..

i'm going to go back and read the entire thread now, as i haven't been broadcasting for awhile but i'm thinking of getting back on occasionally.. any help appreciated!

Just delete links from price and change it to tokens So it will be no problem with chaturbate.

Putting this here because I spent days confused as to why my images just were not showing up on my profile.
Check the link actually leads to the image itself.
I may have spent an embarrassing amount of time stressing over that one, and very confused why it didn't matter what HTML I put in my profile, nothing would show. I was giving it the wrong instructions.

The Bio is a Chaturbate's core section and you will need to change its CSS and that's impossible as CB doesn't allow that... .bio{background:transparent;}
If by any chance you found a workaround let us know ( Tho I would strongly not recommend editing the bio as it may brake the CB's rules regarding the areas they forbid from editing --- the side ads and banners) this might result with bad consequences for your account. Better play safe/secure and by the rules rather than loose access to account an revenue

Most probably your image pointed to the hosted page instead to the actual image... always check that your image ends with image format/type (.gif / .jpeg / .png) and not .html or .php and when using in editing process (designs, profiles, bios) strip the <a href tags

I want to create the simplest possible text profile with no images on CB, and I would like to understand some basic things:

1) What is the maximum number of characters we can put into the About Me section?

2) I noticed many models are putting their profiles into images rather than formatted HTML text. What is the reason for that?

3) I noticed that if you put multiple lines into the About Me, CB respects the line breaks of each line in your input without requiring an HTML break </BR> or paragraph end </P> tag. But CB will NOT respect a line break on a blank line. What is the best way to introduce three blank lines into a multi-line text message? Strangely, CB will respect the HTML tags <p></p> only once. If you put that tag in multiple times you still end up with one blank line.

What I am trying to do is give a model a place to put an extensive tipping menu without creating something that only I can maintain for her. I want the formatting to be so simple that even a person who understands nothing about HTML can still make changes on her own.

A fancier well-formatted HTML page is something that can come later.

From what I know (I did some testings) , there are no character limitations on Chaturbate (input by user) so you are free to add as many lines as you like ... tho, there are limitations on some words like Skype, Snapchat and stuff like that.

To answer your second question... well... an image has a better impact rather than using HTML formatted text. An article I've wrote for my collaborators about using images and why they have a greater impact (if used the right way) here
Furthermore, some webcam performers find HTML editing complex and difficult (tho its much faster to update/change) ... image editing is simpler, flexible (as the user can add custom content on top of a image element) and doesn't require learning something (html, css markup) just a bit of visual inspiration and creativity.
