Chaturbate Broadcasting "error occurred"

Tonight while streaming with OBS we experienced an 'error occurred' message when trying to chat with our viewers and they experienced it too.

It's important to mention that we are using the lovense browser too.

Has anybody experienced this and can you shed some light?

I hate to bother you @punkerbarbie I know you are busy but is it a glitch? Our connection is supreme!

It happened like a month ago or so too I want to say.

It happens on occasion with no rhyme or reason. It generally takes 2-3 hours for resolving I'd estimate. If I had to guess reasoning, it's either maintenance or the servers are just about maxing out. It does suck though for both members and models. I saw one model communicating to the chat through OBS display text since no messages would send :giggle: .

This is not to mention that I know some members with not a whole lot of patience were clicking 'thumbs down' on a room I frequent since the model couldn't return the PM fast enough for them due to the error, smh. I imagine that was pretty widespread. Bad CB experience all around.

Thanks for this. We gave up in the end, we had a very respected regular in the room who was about to put the screen through the window it was aggravating him so much. It's not fair on our tippers and we will be offering compensation for the tips spent on our show.

It's also probably not chaturbates fault either. All large sites go down all the time and for the sheer amount of traffic the site receives, it does pretty well. But I'm no expert I'm a total newb 👶

Would be very handy if it was maintenance issues that broadcasters received a warning in advance so it didn't affect broadcasting quality. Like a quick email to say down for maintenance or something.. or a tweet to tell us they were trying to fix it and therefore don't bother restarting your entire set up in case the problem is your laptop.

You have to remember that the chat servers are different to a lot of other ones, I mean they are on different servers.
And you also have to consider/remember that there are lots of people chatting BUT also, there are MANY MANY MANY bots also posting (I mean spam bots AND apps/bots created/used on the platform - and these post a lot of information every minute, 2 minutes, etc). Unless somehow bots/apps posting in chat are somehow on different servers to chat servers? but I doubt that. So, I think this is one reason the chat gives errors a lot and crashes a lot. I don't think most people really take into consideration bots/apps playing a role and counting as chat - assuming they do.

Welp, seems like it's back at it again today.
Here's hoping these errors / lag spikes are a rare occurrence and don't become a daily trend. It's ruining the daily privates I usually go for :mad:

I don't think it was as bad this afternoon, central European time, as it was yesterday. And I got no error messages.
