I've just found many clips of me broadcasting on CB and MFC recorded and uploaded on some sites and i reported them to DMCA, etc. (MFC hired a service to remove those illegal clips).

It may sound stupid but i need some advice on how to put that DMCA badge on my CB feed while i am online. I read the tutorials on DMCA site but it's not clear. And on CB the tutorial has 2 sentences and it's shitty.

1. I registered DMCA

2. I choose a DMCA badge

3. On the right of the page appeared a code like this: <a href="//www.dmca.com/Protection/Status.aspx?ID=525bfff0-bc1d-450a-a9b7-9c573b2779d4" title="DMCA.com Protection Status" class="dmca-badge"> <img src="//images.dmca.com/Badges/DMCA_badge_grn_60w.png?ID=525bfff0-bc1d-450a-a9b7-9c573b2779d4" alt="DMCA.com Protection Status"></a> <script src="//images.dmca.com/Badges/DMCABadgeHelper.min.js"> </script>

4. Under the code it says Copy and paste this code into your website.

Good but where the hell should i put this code to have it on my screen during broadcast? And this code is ok or i must put my profile link inside it? Cuz i read it should put in my Bio in About me field or Wishlist. I added the code in Wishlist and i got the code on my Bio page but i want it in my broadcast window not necessary on my profile page.

Thanks in advance!

In your "About Me" in your Edit Profile, just paste this:

Thanks a lot!

I did this and the badge appears under the other links which i already have there ( my description, prices and other images). So if i can see the badge there among the other pics, this automatically means i'll have it on my broadcasting window too?

Correct. The position of it has been placed in a specific area from the top of the page and remains in that location.
If you want it higher up, change "top: 315px;" to a lower number. Similarly, if you want it further to the right of your broadcast change "left: 40px;" to any higher number you wish - this is one of those siutations where you can experiment, or leave it as it is.

Do you want the badge to overlap with your stream? There is another code for that, but I don't know it.

I hope you are aware, that the badge doesn't change that you're being recorded the second your cam goes on at cb and mfc. It also doesn't give you "more" copyright of your stream or content. You own the copyright from the moment of creation, which is during streaming or recording a video. A dmca badge is not necessary for any of that.

True but maybe this badge will discourage some of the idiots who do this illegal recording and uploading on other sites.

the main issue is automated bots, members dont cap/share often

Why do you think it will discourage anyone? It literally has no meaning at all. dmca.com has nothing to do with legislative law. They'll file (on your behalf) a take down notice. I'd be bloody surprised if it went any further than that, and those who cap/share (bot or otherwise) won't be caught or dissuaded. It'll just be file site x removing the video and job done. It may make it easier (if it's visible in the video), but maybe not.

So the little sign is the equivalent to putting "Stealing is against the law" in a window of your house; anyone breaking in already knows it's illegal, they're not going to have an epiphany and change their ways.

Additional FYI, it's trivial to remove said signs - directly with things like adblock to remove the element, or editing page html with developer tools of the browser - or they may simply use recording methods that don't even see the icons displayed on a web page rendering at all. Bots are the latter, it won't ever appear in view.

You may have better luck with (I think CB has one of these apps) a "only users with tokens in room" app. However, use could severely damage income/viewer counts etc, so ... not advisable. But probably stop the recordings.

Thanks for the advice. Usually i let Guests in my room but it's a good idea to allow only members with tk. Indeed there's a bad side for this option but i prefer less members than more clips with me spread all over the internet.

@Laura0210 the robots that recording almost every stream on MFC and CB will completely bypass your DCMA logo. It will not show up in the recordings if you've embedded it into the web page.

If you want it to show up on stolen recording, you need to embedded the logo into your video stream.
manycam or camtwist both have options to embed a logo into your video stream stream.
In the camtwist the feature is called 'Image Overly'.

Big thanks! And yeah, i got the idea that most of recording are made by bots. First i thought they are done by ppl also but it's clear now.

Regarding the clips i found on internet, i emailed MFC and CB too. Both of them responded and said they'll do whatever is necessary to have those clips removed.

But MFC said "Unfortunately these sites and their hosts ignore dmca notices so we will submit the links for removal from google ,bing and yahoo search.". So it's better than nothing.

I'm considering to use the apps you told me about, to have the logo embedded into my streams.

Oddly enough cb dmca service can indeed remove from sites where that Tony from mfc dmca says they don't react. Both can't delete from upstore though. Only some models can delete from there and they don't share how they do it.

It all depends on where the site is hosted and what the host nation's laws are. In the EU there is an equivalent to DMCA, but DMCA itself is toothless - it's a US only law.
I forget the name of the EU legislation, but you can submit a similar request under that specific law. Of course not all states abide by EU law (as they don't adopt the laws as they're not full members), and the rest of the world may or may not have similar stuff too.

It may be that CB does both DMCA and the Euro equivalent. Upstore may be out of jurisdiction of both.

It should be noted that the DMCA.com is a private company, not Government. I'd be sure to read their "privacy policy" and find where it's hosted, as that'd imply which data protection law any information you give them is handled under.

There are barely areas in the world where the WIPO treaty for Copyright was not adopted. The countries where the hosts mostly are (especially Netherlands) have signed these treaties. These sites and the server hosts (they definitely work together) just assume that they won't be sued, because it costs money to do that and "we" camgirls are just badly or rather not at all organized, there just is no MPAA for cam performers. Upstore is hosted in the Netherlands, this is no big secret.

I am glad you got help in getting the badge on to your stream but as others have already stated it will not discourage any recording. Not only do the automatic bots strip out all badges that are not directly embedded in the stream, adblockers for all the popular browsers can be configured to do the same for all your average users. If you want a permanent "do not steal" badge as one poster mentioned, then you need to use software such as manycam to include it. It will help certainly with people that thought to upload your video to any reputable tube site, but will not help for any of the disreputable ones. And the reputable sites are all fast to handle any DMCA complaints you would raise with or without a badge on your video.

The European equivalent is EUCD. Works the same as the DMCA. Enforced within Europe, can be voluntarily enforced by anyone else that wants to.

WIPO really does cover pretty much everywhere for copyright protection too but as the previous poster rightly stated it comes down to just how easy it is to actually make a claim in most of those countries, and whether they really actually care to follow up on a claim from an individual model. Iran is a member but I wouldn't count on them being very sympathetic if something of yours was hosted there.

MFC and CB will work on your behalf to get content removed and can do a good job of things such as search results for your online nickname on google. Before making any request please read the sticky about DMCA and never use your personal information. DMCA/EUCD requests are a legal process and are publicly available and sent to the defendant too in case they want to dispute the claim. I have made many DMCA requests myself on behalf of models in the past as there is no harm to me for having my name listed on the claim.

Generally the number of members recording group/private shows is thankfully low. Or at least ones who record and share. Many could be recording for personal use. And having private shows kept on site in their private collection certainly makes it easier to grab them later with simple browser plugins. Recording shows is however very prevalent for certain niche groups of models with organised communities of people recording and trading shows daily.

The hosts of the multitude of capture sites are invariably always the same company that has a long track record of being the go-to host for anything illegal. Bot-nets, illegal pornography, credit card theifs, phishing sites etc. They were called Quasi last time I checked but they change their name as often as they change the country where they are registered. Everywhere from Bahamas, to Seychelles, to Turkey. They never respond to any contact requests. Even the Hague has recently been trying unsuccessfully to talk to them. And upstore I believe is currently registered in Nassau.

The process of trying to actually stop certain large sites that host recordings is an extremely difficult one. I have worked for several years with lawyers and government officials in multiple countries about one site in particular, as a test case if you will, and I can honestly say that in the current political and legal climate it is nigh on impossible to get all the co-operation you need from local governments. Even if you do, the hosting providers simply buy a new Off-the-Shelf company and Trust in another jurisdiction and move all control to it.

If I may correct you on one thing dfgpaul. Sites are not registered IN Nassau, they are registered by a company with a seat in Nassau, Bahamas: Uniregistry for example. Registrars do just one thing, they register the ip address of a server at a "name server" so that your browser knows under what ip address a website can be reached. Ambercutie.com and every website have a unique ip address that you could use to open it in a browser but instead of putting this number into the browser, you can also just write ambercutie.com into the address bar and then the name server gets a query and tells the browser the ip address. Like a phonebook basically.

Where this company, the registrar, is situated is not important in regards to copyright. Some reputable ones will nonetheless take action when a website registered by that company is involved in illegal things, copyright violations however are not ranked very highly there, so these crimes don't make the registrar unregister a website, even though it has happened in the past.

Physical server location matters. That's why basically all pirate sites use cloudflare. Cloudflare masks the ip of a website and cloudflare no longer hand out the ip address unless you present them a court order making it mostly impossible to file a copyright complaint to the server host under the right jurisdiction, because behind cloudflare you just don't know where the server is. I'd say 99 out of 100 server hosts are actually respectable companies that react when they get a correct copyright complaint. And then there are the complete rogue ones like quasinetworks, formerly ecatel, novogara and more names, which are all the same company though. They host everything, they don't even have terms of use on their website. Copyright groups are getting closer to the actual people though, so there's hope. When it comes to a lawsuit, they lose every time (they did some weeks ago again) but the process of getting there is time and money consuming and they basically hope that you throw the towel before. Basically nothing is really a secret here, even the physical address of their server hosts in Netherlands is known, there are just thick layers of complete ignorance to go through before you get to them.

Does anyone know if CB will submit links to search engines for removal, on the model's behalf? If not, then is there any service that would do that on the model's behalf, so that the model does not need to expose any form of personal identity to the search engines?

In what form do you submit those links to CB or the third party? If a model finds 500 separate recordings on some scumbag website, is she obligated to hand over 500 URLs and keep providing the new URLs on a weekly basis?

True but maybe this badge will discourage some of the idiots who do this illegal recording and uploading on other sites.
not trying to disappoint you, but putting the badge on your webpage and/or on your stream feed is like trying to give a medicine
to a dead person. what i mean is from my own personal experience all those sites would place your videos even with the badge on as they couldn't care less.
all my shows are all over the internet with DMCA badge embedded. they don't care.
after very deep investigation and ongoing conversation I had with DMCA,I found the reason behind it. DMCA do not do take-downs unless you request a take down which costs you 200$ per domain per take-down.

the 10$ DMCA subscription is useless as well for the end user, it is aimed for web developers that want to embed their DMCA protection in their code, so DMCA provides them the tool-set to do so for a 10$ fee, but it is made very clear on their website that the DMCA take-down is on you.
I found this service is total useless for us as an end user.
the best way to tackle this issue is by requesting to remove your videos from the search engines.
well, after all if you cut the road access to the city, the city is not an issue anymore, or at least to most average users that use search engines to find your content.

i would highly advise against this. you would be alone in your room and very counterproductive. by doing so you would hardly be seen on CB for users to
be able and spot you in your room. you need to promote traffic to your room , not deprive it.

once submitted to goolge, google would exclude those links from its crawlers and they would not appear again. so in away it is a one time thing.
but remember you have new shows, new recording = new Links. so you will have to maintain your google take down requests.
it works great for me.

i have looked into this service, contacted many models regarding this, I couldn't find many that use it and it is dam expensive.
I found one model that was proud to announce on her stream and BIO she uses this service, but when i googled her
username I found tons of her stuff all over, so it discouraged me to seek further on that service.
what I don't know if she had the 69$ / per Mo program or the 169$ / per Mo program, that could effect what I saw.
the 69$ program , it is on you to report them your findings and they will do the takedowns based on what you reported.
the 169$ program, they supposedly do it for you automatically.
it could be that model had the 69$ program and she never bothered notifying them on her videos on the net believing they do it automatically.
a very common misconception of users using those services, like DMCA and CMP, etc.

One thing I wonder is how much of the model's personal identity needs to be exposed to the takedown service itself? Because that becomes another potential source of identity leak if they want your full legal identity.
none. as they do the takedown on your behalf using their Identity

The woman you possibly googled more than likely did what everyone else does with the DMCA one; put the protection image in the bio, thinking/hoping that it will deter people from recording.

no, this specific case I mentioned above is the CamModelProtection service she was using not the DCMA.
