Can Models Travel?

Hi guys! I was wondering how life is when you become a full time model on MFC...are you able to travel then?
I love to travel and hope to be able to do that even more when I start camming (because hope to make more money too than I do today).
I first plan to stay put and really work on establishing myself as a camgirl for few months but ultimately travel is my passion and would love to explore this planet and still do camming...so once the ball is rolling I wonder if it will be possible to travel a lot too...
But...one can't really take a long time off camming because fans forget models who are not online for a while? and hotels do not have good enough internet connection to continue camming yes? and what about a cruise? If I wanted to take a month long cruise (barely internet there at all) is that even possible?
I see some camgirls travel a lot but they seem to rent houses in cities with internet connection etc or am I wrong? do some stay in hotels too? because I love hotels...so was wondering if anyone has any experience with hotel travel and also cruises and how you make it all work if at all - and how much time is okay to take off from work without losing fans? any examples? I don't see why you wouldn't be able to travel! I just started too and I already have trips planned. I think if you were to be absent for a long time, to make you keep whoever is following you updated, maybe do a cam show here or there (depending on internet availability and such). Even if you had a snapchat, or twitter, and posted pics and stuff regularly if/when you managed to get internet (say you like hop into a cafe for a second to snap a pic or tweet with their wifi), you would at least be staying in touch instead of dropping off the face of the earth. If you're using tumblr to promote, you can queue posts to certain times, if you're doing that you can write messages/post photos and then while you're gone they will post on set days for you. Also, would be a good idea to try and get as much time on cam as you can before your vacation leaving date.

Yes. Just be aware that it's often really hard to find good internet to be able to cam. Most hotels that 'say' they have high speed often get the cheapest business package for internet they can. Then you're sharing that among all the guests. So you'll be lucky to be able to broadcast from them. Some are better, but it's really been a struggle to find them.

Even if you rent a house they may not have the best bandwidth and you'll be working on improving before you'll be able to cam.

And there are countries that have MFC blocked.

That said there are models now that travel quite a bit and manage it.

You'll need good internet.
Any days off will decrease number of visitors to your chat.(even 1 day)
Be cautious if you don't want to get recognized when going out of state. Granted that's also how xFuukax and I wound up making g/g content this weekend, visiting family while out of state, so cautiously go for it. XD

Unless things have changed in the last 2 years ( I believe not ), cruise ship internet is satellite-based, with heavy restrictions on traffic volume. And I don't know if the newer ships offer wifi (or fake cell phone towers; the ship I went on a cruise two years ago had only desktops with internet access for an insane price), but if they do the most you will be able to do is send snaps or post on twitter (veeeeeery slowly).

@violetvibe @weirdbr I did cam on a cruise once, because my idiot ex decided to buy the internet (super expensive) while we went on one.

It's not worth it. You will be disconnected constantly, and have terrible lag. The best thing that came out of it was explaining to guys on Streamate that I couldn't do phone shows, since I was in the middle of the Atlantic. Oh, and btw the Streamate location option had a heck of a time with me then too. XD

In case anyone's wondering camming on a plane is difficult too haha. I only did tips for drinks and to look out the window till the lag was too difficult to stay.

Btw would my camscore plummet if I don't log in for a while?
I was thinking about making videos while I travel then fans would have something to look forward to when am back and to stay in touch that way. I can't imagine a life where am permanently stuck in one place.

I'm a year in and even now taking time off REALLY effects my fanbase (totally weird to think I have fans since I just consider them people I hang out with haha). At 5 months in I had a decent cam score (6.23) and made top 100...so I thought I was safe to take 6 days off for a surgery...boy was I wrong. This was in March...Lost 2 of my biggest tippers and I have just now gotten my cam score back up.

I only worked 3 of my first 7 days as a "new model" and damn I think back and wish I would have worked all 7...

Anyways....as far as the internet connection ....if you stay in an expensive hotel (think $400+ a night)I don't suspect problems. I've never had one. But you will run into issues with cruise ships and places that don't have great internet.

I've traveled to Iceland without problems....and see a lot of girls traveling.

Yes...they were people that I was early on with...had only been coming around a couple weeks (since I had hit top 100)...yes I'm sure they still come around MFC...they just found other girls...which I guess is understandable...if a guy comes on MFC EVERY NIGHT dropping a ton of tokens it is their social life... (its mine too hahah)...and if I leave I can't expect them to have no social life.

I guess it's like this...if you are in a 6 month relationship with someone and they can't see you for a week....you will wait...but if you met someone 2 weeks ago and you are kind of dating around...and one person can't see you for a week are you going to sit at home? No...you are going to spend even more time with the other person you are interested in...

You get what I'm saying? MFC is a lot like the real world at times.

If you aren't available they peek around...While your long term regs will stay loyal you lose all those that were on the verge of becoming regs.

When you have momentum on MFC you need to take it and run with it. Put in the work now so in the future you can travel without worry. There is one girl consistently in the top that travels all the time and is hardly ever on cam...I don't know how she does it other than a loyal group of followers..and years of putting in the work.

Oh and again...I'm not saying don't travel. I'm just saying PLAN it...so you can make sure you are somewhere with the ability to cam! The "extra" I have paid for the nicer hotel was worth it because I made 2 times that camming!

I think I understand mfc even better now! Thank you for the advice! btw I know hitting 100 in two weeks is amazing so congratulations wow !! That is rare actually even among the top models. Some worked months to get there and am talking about models who eventually became top 20. Will check you out (am still learning ).
I will try nicer hotels when I can afford (getting verified in two months - starting camming in three - saving for my own lovely place now ).
Yes momentum...I read in some success books that keeping the momentum going is most important in any career.That is secret to success and one never knows when that momentum will happen but when it does - be ready. So smart people recognize this momentum and use it to the fullest and if not ready at that moment - they drop all and make sure they are.

I just assumed you wouldn't be able to cam from Iceland since the publication of pornography is illegal there. I'm always leery of trying to cam from countries that will throw you in prison for such things.

I started camming in early July, haven't been on every day because I have a lot of health problems and some events that I'd had planned for months beforehand... and now I've been given a 2-week luxury holiday by someone who saw me needing a break from life. Grateful as I am for the holiday, I'm finding it very difficult to be properly excited about it because... it's 2 weeks that I can't cam =\ I've definitely found that the more I'm able to be online consistently, the more people come back to my room. So I'm pretty terrified of my Big Homecoming. I'm planning on staying updated on Twitter and Tumblr and I'm pushing my Snapchat and some photo/video packages as ways to keep getting the naughty stuff while I'm away, but in all honesty if I could politely refuse the holiday I would. I have too many bills and not enough of a following to be able to justify taking 2 weeks off...

Having said all of that, time off cam can help your camscore if you get offline tips. It really depends and that's more to do with how camscore works as a whole, which is explained better in other threads...

One other thing you could possibly do is sell Skype dates while you're away, as a sort of gf experience - the connection speed may not be as good and the lighting may not be perfect, but they get to talk to you one-on-one away from MFC and get a bit more up close and personal. Could be a thing?

Ironic considering on normal broadcast TV there were weird person to person sex advertisements hah.

I didn't do any cum shows from Iceland just to be safe.

I did however do a TON of research before broadcasting (which I always reccomend when going to another country). In Iceland the term "pornography" as far as law goes is not defined. Therefor it is not enforced. There are adult channels on cable TV and Playboy/Hustler for sale in stores and sex shops.

The law was also never updated or included the internet. In 2013/2014 the attempted to ban online porn...but even then it was porn as they defined it...it had to be "violent and degrading" to qualify for the ban...and even that went nowhere.

For sure. Which is why I didn't do any real shows....and only logged on 1 time....and only after I saw all the adult channels on the TV. I went with the intent of not camming...saw all that...did some more research and logged on to say hi to the guys.

A lot of people are unaware but the "Production of pornography" is actually illegal in almost all US States as well. I believe Cali and NH are the only places it is legally allowed.

You would think with the internet that states/countries would update these silly laws.

First amendment protects pornography in all USA I think. As far as I know but curious if anyone knows some details about it and how it is in various states? I know that some states have obscenity laws and of course also we all know but just mentioning this that child pornography is awful and illegal on all planet so is not included.
But is interesting though that in some countries a woman showing face is considered pornography. Or bare ankles or shoulders are pornography.
That said am wondering if camming can even be called pornography? It is sort of like calling entire film industry a comedy. Because the show depends on model- cam girls do anything from stripping, dancing, hardcore to not even showing full nudity. It all depends on a camgirl - the show- to me camming is more like a sexy artistic expression no different from Marilyn Monroe nude poster.

Sorry bout this freedom speech. Is one of the reasons I also love to travel. I grew up in very strict home. Mini skirt was considered being a whore by my mother and she openly called movie star Brigitte Bardot a whore. (?) I realized with time that her actions were motivated by hate and control not morals. I run away from home and never looked back. I am now addicted to this freedom. Yeah that's essentially what I'm doing :> I'm selling my Snapchat at a reduced rate for people who might just want to have it while I'm away (and secretly hoping that those people might then buy it at full price) to see what I'm up to as it happens, I'm going to put together a sort of mini portfolio of amateur-style unedited pics and videos that I can make downloadable when I get back, and the option to get a letter with a souvenir in the post :> just that I'm fairly certain even with all of these things I'm not going to get the kind of exposure and income I'd like XD it would be better if I could cam while I'm away, even just for chilled non-explicit sessions, but for various reasons I don't think I can. It's possible to travel and cam but...

-Check local laws. Even in the US there are bizaare things, like only 2 dildos per house in Arizona.
-Make sure you can get a good internet at a reasonable price. It's becoming easier to get good internet but a lot of hotels have taken to charging excess rates or limiting service.
-Check that you can be on in a time zone that fits your regulars.

-Plan ahead, there will be lots of things in your cam room that you won't want to carry around.
