The summer is here. And I'm hot. Like really really hot. And I live in a really really hot place. I'm a US citizen but I live abroad and have for years, but am thinking about going even more abroad (abroad from living abroad? weird...) for the summer. Basically to live somewhere for a few weeks or a month to escape the city hear. But that's a long time with no camming income...

Have you ever lived/traveled/gone on vacation somewhere and cammed? I figure it could be fairly straightforward if I bring my tools (toys, camera, mic, etc.) but I can also foresee issues with internet, motivation, location, background etc. I suppose a private AirBnB would be the best place to do it...

Anyway, wondering if anyone's cammed not in their usual location for a lengthly period of time and what the experience was & any tips.

Happy camming!

I know a couple of top models who have gone on vacations (2+ weeks) and intended to cam. But, they found the internet service not so good. Also, they looked into local laws and opted to not put anything more than trying to log on and have some simple chat.

BTW, if you're "going abroad" from living abroad, you're coming back to the US for a spell? ;)

Side-note on travel and webcams: you may experience a lot of flicker while filming under artificial light if you go from 50Hz (PAL) to 60Hz (NTSC) standard country (or vise versa). Most modern webcam do come with easy enough settings to switch but older webcams may be a hassle to fix the flicker.

Currently living abroad and camming from abroad and it's a pain in the ass. I had my own apartment until a week ago and I still had internet issues even though my landlords did try to fix it. Cheap unlimited mobile data saved me, otherwhise I wouldn't have been able to cam. Right now ,I'm looking into Airbnbs as well as I decided to stay one more month and then move to another country. The issue with airbnbs is that you never know beforehand how the appartment looks in reality and privacy is often a problem. If it's not an entire house, just an apartment, you may have issues with loud neighbours, crying babies, thin walls so everyone can hear everything etc. Before making your reservation, ask if they can do a speedtest and send you the results. Or have a mobile data backup plan if the internet isn't good enough. Also if the internet works, make sure it's fast enough to handle streaming with a VPN. For general privacy concerns but also because AirBnb is known to not be sex worker friendly. If you're planning on staying in the same appartment the for 28 + days, contact the owners first and ask if you can stay for one or two nights first and then extend your stay (probably only works if you're booking on short notice, otherwhise they won't be willing to block the days for other potential clients). They usually offer great monthly discounts but cancellation policies suck for longterm stays. Basically you have to pay the entire stay even if you cancel the day you arrive. Booking just one or two nights is generally a great idea, even if you're just planning on staying for two weeks. Because cancelling and getting a refund is kind of impossible. It's hard to explain that you need great upload speed for streaming or that you can't work in your airbnb because your customers don't find it sexy to hear the neighbours' dog barking his lungs out.

Got it! Thanks, all. I might think twice before taking a little "vacation" for more than a week or so. I also had just broken up with someone when I posted that and immediately wanted to leave the country ha. I'll still consider it but things like lights and internet and noise (didn't even consider noise) are huge factors. Overall I wouldn't bank on doing it.

But no wasn't going back to the states, would've gone somewhere in Europe :) Or Southeast Asia but if this girl is going to Vietnam she is eating and playing with elephants.. NOT camming

When traveling, it's usually a good idea to check the local laws. Some countries ban sex toys, nudity, pornography.

The CDC website can tell you what shots are recommended for different parts of the world.

If your traveling with sex toys. Don't try to hide the toys inside some thing, that just makes it look suspicious. Clear Zip locks, so if your bag is opened, they don't have to touch the toys. Take out the batteries. Or if the battery isn't removable, check to see if it has a traveling mode to prevent accidental vibration. Or drain the battery completely before travel.

Limitations on carry on liquids includes lubes. As in, 1 quart-sized plastic bag per person, with bottles equal to or smaller then 3.4 OZ. Water based lubes are more travel friendly sense they're easier to washout and clean up.

Electronic devices can break, get lost, get stolen, get searched. So it's always a good idea to backup of everything in a safe place before traveling. Disabling automatic login, Enabling device encryption, setting bios password can all help protect your data. Also a clean account, in case you need to login in public.

If your phone is carrier locked, you can talk to your carrier to see if they'll unlock your phone for travel. Go-Sim, WorldSIM, OneSimCard, GigSky, eKit, all offer international plans.

Check what your Visa allows. Some countries don't allow you to work even on the internet at all if it's just a traveling Visa.

Oh interesting. So even if you’re an American citizen you can’t work anywhere? Wasn’t aware of this, will look into it.

By work anywhere I meant online for my own business by the way, I know I can’t as an American citizen get a physical job anywhere.

Yeah.. there are local tax laws too you may need to follow as well. If you are living and working at that location, you aren't exempt because you aren't a citizen.

Yeh when you enter certain countries with 'work equipment' like laptops or dressed for business the customs agents might slide in small talk questions if you're there for work or not. A big red flag is if you're traveling with professional light kits or higher than normal cameras. Remember ANYTHING that produces money while in another country counts as work even if it's existing work. There a case where a comic artist was denied entry to another country because he said he was working on a commission while attending a con and he didn't have a work visa.

Off topic, but this kind of reminds me of the 'sex work' by 'philosophy tube'.

For instance in Englad it's legal to buy and sell sex. But if you have a flat mate, then it's considered a brothel, and is illegal.
Some forms of Sex work Advertising are illegal.
If you help a sex worker book, loan money, barrow money, drive, bodyguard, that's illegal.

Northern Ireland, it's legal to sell sex, but criminal to buy it. The policy can take property & earnings that they believed to be related to selling sex without proof.
It's illegal to rent a flat to a sex worker. because your profiting off the work.

In new Zealand, sex work is legal for citizens, but not immigrants. For immigrants they can refuse entry on the suspicion of being a sex worker.

Some countries just having known pornographers come to your rental is enough to get evicted.
