I read this article about this project, and thought cam girls are whom they should be seeking.
Background on their project can be found at: http://www.nerve.com/love-sex/a-new-cas ... masturbate (I've also pasted the article after the job posting):

Casting for Feminist Sex-Ed Project on Pleasure - $1K + great cause (SF Bay area)
compensation: $1000/day + travel (part-time)
Women's pleasure is too important to be kept taboo, only whispered about behind closed doors, when people all over the world would benefit from talking about it.

Our project will break through the taboo to set the record straight.

Through video pleasure portraits, our project will show the world:
- That different women like different things.
- What we really like down there, in detail.
- Ways to communicate what we like.

WHO WE ARE: A small team of sex-positive feminist media makers, with support from some well-known sex educators, such as Annie Sprinkle PhD and Carol Queen PhD.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Confident women who know what they like and feel comfortable telling the story of how they discovered what feels good and demonstrating on camera. All body types and ages (18-99.)

HOW TO APPLY: See a sample video, learn more about us and apply at http://www.hersake.com

We're shooting every month, ongoing, in the SF Bay Area. In addition to being part of a great cause, you'll receive $1000.00 for the day. If you're not local, we'll buy your flight and put you up at a nice hotel for your stay.

Article from the Verve:
In the porn world, female masturbation often exists for a circle of salivating men to jerk off around. In the regular world, women know that female masturbation is very much more a solo flight. Beginning with anxious squirming fingers in your childhood bedroom, it evolves into unabashed weekend trips to Babeland where you playfully flog a good friend while you browse vibrators. But honest depictions of how women touch themselves are rarely seen in films or on TV, partly because a woman can't get semen stuck on her earlobe to comic effect, but mostly because women have never shown the world exactly what goes on under the duvet.

Which is why a small team of feminist media makers, backed by sex educator and porn star Annie Sprinkle and sexologist Carol Queen, put a casting call out on Tumblr this week. They are looking for: "Real, diverse, confident women, who will be very comfortable being interviewed on camera about masturbation. We will film you explaining and demonstrating how you masturbate. Ages 21-99." You will be generously compensated for your two finger taco tango, as the filmmakers will pay $1,000 per day for a one to two day interview, plus a flight to San Francisco, and a stay at a four-star hotel.

Studies have said 92 percent of women masturbate and they do it about three times a week. Which means, apart from 8 percent of women being bold-faced liars, that we need some real representations of twirling the pearl. Betty Dodson can't keep cleaning up after us. So, if you have no problem fingering yourself in front of a crew of strangers under stage lighting, sign up to become the star of your own onanist doc. It's not porn if it's educational.

Re: Camgirls, Casting for Feminist Sex-Ed Project on Pleasur

It all sounds great, but they are looking for women who are not in porn.

I understand that camming isn't porn, but I feel like since we do masturbate on camera in front of lots of people we wouldn't be the right kind of people the project creators are looking for. Which really kind of sucks because I would love to be part of a project like this.

I'm very curious as to how they will sell this without it being looked at as porn. I'm all for the cause, everything they state is true. But I doubt this will be shown in high schools.... Unless times have changed. My sex-ed was a condom demonstration on a banana and std education on a power point with no photos.

Probably in a similar way that documentaries about nudism are sold. The few I've seen included children or young teens as well as adults and seemed to be quite capable of painting the whole thing in a non-voyeuristic and non-sexual way. Granted, This is not going to be separate from sexuality, but it also doesn't have to be outright porn.

If it's supported by Annie Sprinkle and Carol Queen, I'd be surprised if they were opposed to cam models. Wouldn't hurt to try.

It looks like a great project.

They might (should) have a nuanced understanding of camming. We control our rooms and our sexuality, so the differences between camming and porn are pretty pronounced, at least in terms of autonomy. You should look into it if you're interested. (And if they're resistant, I'll totally pitch an argument proposing they reconsider.)
