I don't know why you're quoting my post about this....? I'm responding to them asking if they need to advertise good members so they don't seem biased by advertising good models. I said no because they're presumably catering their site to members who are looking for models. What part of my post are you addressing?

I think I had the quote up when I posted didn't notice.

I know exactly what you're talking about & imo it's always the same way.... At 1st they are very responsive & nice, but as soon as the payment has been done, your contact tries are often left unanswered & I think I've heard every excause in the book. "Been busy" and "Been sick" are classics. I've even ordered from a cam girl who said that her mother had died, which later turned out to not be true.

& this really sucks, because after X numbers of scams or scam tries, you as a customer gets suspicious of _all_ cam girls, because you don't know if they are honest or just lying. These (s)cam girls make everything harder for you honest ones.

Dunno where you bought this custom but I recommend anyone to only buy at sites where you can get a refund if the model doesn't come through, such as Manyvids and ELM. Those sites are not perfect but the best I know of.

Tips in any form, no matter if on a cam site or a cam store site, are counted as a gift with no strings attached, so if you've paid this way there's unfortunately nothing you can do. Same with gift cards.

It's true what you say that there's really no way for a customer to get his feedback through if it's a negative one. Afaik there are no "model rating" sites & unfortunately sites like Manyvids doesn't have a feedback system (even though it really should!). Sure you could write on her Twitter/Facebook/Wall etc. but no one will ever see it & she will just delete the post & block you.

As a member, what do you do? Do you just chalk it up as a loss and move on? Also, have more questions for those that read the long version.

Long story short, made a purchase back in February, keep getting the run around and still nothing. More details below.

My guess is she is actually too lazy to do the request, more than dishonest, but yeah she is dishonest too. She is also beyond stupid. Because whatever extra money she made from you for this one transaction she lost 10 fold dollars more from the loss of you as a customer and the loss of trust in her behavior. You will warn other people about her so there will be secondary economic effects for her as well. She is self-sabotaging her career.

For you entrepreneurs out there: maybe all of these payment issues point to the need for a secured *escrow service* for adult services? Maybe for a reasonable fixed escrow fee, the service would secure payment, take all risk of non-payment, and then hold money until the buyer confirms the service is performed. Maybe the goods/services would be delivered through the escrow service itself, to make it impossible to claim non-delivery.

An escrow service could also reveal reputation details for buyers and sellers, thus building a community and trust between members over time.

There are already content sites with escrow systems in place, exactly like you described. Which is not to say no one else should create a new one, just mentioning that this exists and is a great way to avoid these sorts of issues from either side of the transaction.

The problem is that most the time models can get away with not delivering stuff or being very late with no penalty at all. I am not sure even being exposed on your site is really going to cost her money. The odds that even if you had a 1,000 followers the odds that any of them would do business with a particular model other than buying videos are pretty small. Sure I'll think twice before doing business with anybody listed on your twitter feed. But I'm only tipping a handful of models now and even smaller number, I'm purchasing skypes, custom videos etc.

Yes and escrow service would be awesome, something like Paypal would be perfect :wait:

In the mean time, we do have an escrow service it is whoever sold you the tokens MFC, CB. I believe ManyVids and Clips4sale will also get involved if somebody gets ripped off.

Please name some names.

ELM has an escrow service & MV "kind of" do

ELM is extralunchmoney? (Just did a Google search to figure that out....) That escrow service would not be for open ended transactions though. It looks like ELM is selling products, and payment for the product might have escrow-like attributes. I suppose that a buyer could put together a product description and then post that, and the seller could bid on it, but that is making your private transaction a public transaction, which might work but also looks like a twisted use of the ELM site. Just as an aside, those ELM guys know how to market. They have clever product ideas and they understand how to create promotional events and discounts to spur impulse sales. What percent of the sale does ELM take and what is their escrow fee?

If I'm not mistaken customs4u works basically like an escrow service.
Also mygirlfund definitely has an escrow service AND you're able to leave models feedback which they can't edit or delete, so.

Talk with model and explain custom request. They agree and give me a price. I gladly pay the amount and she tells me she'll get them done this week or beginning of next week. I wait two weeks and before checking in. She was sick, and said she'd get to them later in the week. Two weeks go by and I check in again. Don't hear anything for a week so I check in again. She says she hasn't been able to work so she's been focusing on camming. Say's she'll try to do them Monday.

A week and a half goes by so I check in. An additional two weeks go by with no response so I check in again. Sick again. Says she'll work on them this week. Another two weeks go by so I check in yet again. This time I'm kind of losing patience so I email in 3 days after no response. She apologizes, says she had free time when I bought them, but then got sick. Says she'll have to find time and she'll get to them when she can.

This time I wait a month. Nothing. Sent a message 5 days ago with no response yet. Plan to send another tomorrow (though I have a feeling you guys will tell me I should have given up a while ago).

I'm generally very patient. I don't try to rush anyone. I understand life happens. You get busy with personal situations, you get sick, etc. However, after a certain point patience starts to wane. After 4 months, my patience has gotten thin.

For those that read the long version, what could I have done differently? Should I have given up sooner? Should I have kept up contact more often instead of waiting two weeks?

With regards to the model, does anything like a review site exist? I doubt it, but figure I'd ask. For me, it's not about the loss, but more I hope others don't get screwed. I haven't mentioned her name here because I don't want to name and shame (not even sure naming models is against the rules). I'm not going to go on a social media tirade either.

Anyways, sorry for the long message. My brain is always on overdrive and I always overthink even the simplest of situations. I'm interested in your opinions as both models and members. Do models think I contacted too much? Do members think I should have given up and cut my losses sooner? etc.
I think you handled the communication with her as well as can be expected.
Don't spend another cent on that model, ever (even if she finally comes through with the promised item).
Try making a customer complaint to her camsite's customer support. (They don't want scammers giving their site a bad rep.)

I love doing customs and if I happen to be really busy and really can't deliver at the arranged time, I apologize and send some ready made videos to keep my customers happy until I can deliver. I try not to take longer than a week at MOST. Fastest delivery time is usually 24 hours. More than 4 months is completely unaaceptable.
I like that you communicate with you customers about any delays you're having as opposed to ignoring them like this model seems to have done. That's the difference between a (possible) scammer and honest people.

Totally agree. Imo the latter is unfortunately just as common as the 1st.

I don't mind if an order takes a longer time to finish than what was initially agreed upon, as long as the model sends a status update every now and then. It doesn't have to be a novel, just a few sentences explaining that there will be a delay.
