I need some recommendations on a sex worker friendly business checking account (usa). Ideally one that can be setup without an in person visit.
They don’t exist.

There are no sw friendly banks in the USA that I am aware of.

Wells Fargo has made public statements that they will accept legal sw businesses however there are multiple cases of them acting contrary to this.

The best case is often a local credit union. Best practices are to have multiple accounts with different banks so that if your money is frozen you can move/pivot quickly.

Best practice is to not be honest about your business. Make sure the business name is nothing to do with the adult industry or your actual operating brand name. Bankers at every level are given a document which gives them things to look out for for human trafficking or illegal sex work and the banking patterns look VERY similar to legal sw. They are given minimal to no training in how to discern the difference and most banks will have an explicit policy against granting accounts to anything to do with the adult or sw industries. Also if you get denied at one branch do not go to another local branch they share info.

This extends outside of sw to adult stores, even a woman selling condoms was denied an account with Chase

- source - I’ve been researching financial discrimination in the US against sw for the past year. including interviewing lawyers, bankers, asset protection professionals and staff at payment processors.

Yeah I was thinking the same but they need me to come in and im not in the country at the moment but im applying for the ones that do allow an online application but its slow going and many of them are very restrictive for the first 30/90 days.

I’d be very careful - any ones that allow online will be extra vigilant.

IMO just lie your ass off
