Anyone have any for me?
Nordling I know you got to have at least one lol.

The original version of "The Thing."
Any of the old Bela Lugosi "Dracula" film.
Not really horror but the version of Arsenic and Old Lace with Cary Grant includes a small role for Boris Karloff.
Motel Hell for "camp."
The Original Chainsaw Massacre. One of the few horror films that actually left me nervous. lol
Any of the Lon Chaney, Jr. "Wolfman" films.

Oh, and don't forget "Plan 9 From Outer Space." Bela Lugosi's last performance. Very bad, cheaply made movie but it's so bad it's entertaining. Follow it up with "It Came from Hollywood"--Dan Ackroyd's comedy ABOUT crappy B horror movies.

Oh, and a MUST film: "It Conquered the World." Stars Peter Graves and Lee Van Cleef. Very camp, and takes itself incredibly serious. lol Loved it.

These are not specifically black and white, but I would have to say 1964's The Masque of the Red Death (starring Mr. Vincent Price of course.) and 1977's Suspiria (directed by Dario Argento) are completely awesome 'classic' horror flicks to watch; and as far as black and whites go, my absolute faves are 1935's The Bride of Frankenstein, 1922's Nosferatu, and ANY Hitchcock movies, especially Psycho and The Birds...

Oh and 1945's Dead of Night.

I loved horror movies when I was a lil' child in Nebraska...I could go on and on!

Had to look through my stuff lol, I love black and white movies! All the movies posted so far are really all freaking great! Anywho my B&W Horror suggestions: (in no real order)
Bucket of Blood
The Vampires Ghost
The Bat
I Bury the Living
House on Haunted Hill
Jennifer
The Lady Vanishes
The Man Without a body
Donovans Brain

Some of them are more thrillery, but still fun stuff, oh a non B&W suggestion if ya havent seen it the original House of Wax with Vincent Price is wonderbar! I :h: Vincent Price... mmm I want to watch some black n white now ^^;

The Innocents is a ghost film that is really scary. It's 1961 b&w.

Peeping Tom is from 1960 and is really creepy. It's not b&w but it still ranks in retro horror for me. :thumbleft:

"White Zombie" I did a projector show to it not long ago.
"The Last Man on earth"... Vincent Price that inspired "I am Legend"
I've got more but I'm lazy or they were already listed.

Edit!!!!!! "Nosferatu"... a given.

Ha, I came here to suggest:
Nosfertu
Last Man on Earth
House on Haunted Hill (original)
Dracula (1931)
Night of the Living Dead

...but you guys beat me to it. :thumbleft:

So I will add:
Psycho
The Birds
Phantom of the Opera

Edit: The Tingler! One of my fave Vincent Price movies.

6 posts in and no one mentioned the original Night of the Living Dead from 1968. Shame to you all.

I was just about to say this.

If you have Netflix, they have hundreds of good, old, & classic horror movies for streaming and many more if you get disks sent in. If you add one of the movies suggested here to your queue, a host of other similar films will pop up as suggestions. Great stuff. I've found some amazing movies that way.

Here are some of my favorites:
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? (I think some parts of it might be in color? Pretty sure it's all B&W though)
The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (supposed to be one of the best horror films of all time)
Carnival of Souls (another top-rated horror film)

Edit to add: these three movies are based more on horrific concepts rather than monsters or gore.

A bit off topic, but Carnival of Souls broke my heart. I remember LOVING it when I was a kid, but I rewatched it recently and could hardly get through the thing. I HATE when that happens, and I try not to let it spoil all my good memories of watching it when I was younger.

Oh, and this is totally not an old classic horror movie, but Human Centipede 2 was in black and white, and it was amazzzzing. It's super gorey, but also kind of has a David Lynch feel to it. Sort of if you combined Eraserhead and Hostel. Worth checking out if you love gore. Nothing like the first one.

all great suggestions...i'd just add "the beast with five fingers", starring Peter Lorre....
and for all you Vincent Price fans....strictly speaking, it's not horror....but you might wanna check out the original version of "the fly" :)

Ok... great memories of late Friday nights as a kid watching these on TV... most of the good ones already mentioned of course... but also worthy are...

The Tingler [1959]
Creature from the Black Lagoon [1954]
Night of the Demon [1957] {Curse of the Demon - USA}
Village Of The Damned [1960]
The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms [1953]
The Quatermass Experiment [1955] {The Creeping Unknown - USA}
Invasion Of The Bodysnatchers [1956]
