best camcorder for self shooting?

hi everyone!

so currently I shoot with my iphone 6s [crowd boos] and my webcam on my msi laptop (it's also hd..but the crowd is still booing).

I'm in the market for a camcorder/camera whichever's best for self shooting both photos and videos and my budget is preferably under 700. Based on what I've seen I know it's pretty low but it's what I can afford at the moment. One with a remote control would be IDEAL but..again I recognize that my price point is pretty low.

I searched for this and the last topic was in 2013 so I assume it's okay to re-ask at this point!! Do let me know if it's not
