Avatars or Cam Preview?

Inspired by MFCGod's thread...

Lets put this baby to bed and see just how many members take the time to change their settings to room previews vs. how many members leave the mfc homepage on the default view.

I did edit my view, but prefer avatars to the cam preview.

As a premium member (because I perv too) I get enticed by the avatar first but then usually decide to enter after I preview the room preview.

I cannot stand the avatars. I kept clicking on women wearing awesome stuff, and ending up in a room with a model that looked nothing like the picture wearing less interesting stuff when I was new to MFC. Finding alternative looking stuff was hard when all the click bait was in the way.

A third option would be both, which is what I prefer. Avatars are great for quick recognition of models, and room views are great to see what's going on. So, since both are valuable, I go with both.

I go for avatars because surprise and anticipation are two of the spices of life. With room preview my first sight of models would too often consist of them looking like a smacked arse or an office chair.

I usually do previews when I perv to tip but it depends on my mood.

Forget where I read this, but models who have a picture of their face as their avatar will get more lasting visitors. Always kind of wondered this, but maybe it's because someone likes seeing who they're talking to. Visiting a butt when you want to see a butt and then not seeing a butt is probably going to lead to disappointment automatically. Of course it's not a rule, but I've definitely noticed that a lot of members have said they liked my face and hence why they clicked on the room.

As to when someone doesn't look like their picture, that's a different matter. I think PlayboyMegan said this, but someone said that they always used selfies instead of pictures from a professional shoot in avatars so that there is a greater chance that they look as thought they would via webcam.

Definitely both for me. When I am surfing, looking for new models Avatars. You can't beat a pretty face. However, if I'm trying to decide which models among my favorites I should go visit I use previews.

An avatar is a nice thing to promote the room, but for me I never enter before I get a preview. So often the avatar has nothing to do with the person in the room. To avoid the "Hi.... OMG.. bye" story, I prefer the preview.

Room previews to get the feel of a room, but I click on the menu to check the avatar if the model's face is not in the frame right now.
And yeah avatars showing face is a must, nothing beats a beautiful face in terms of attraction.

I have mine set to avatars because they are slightly smaller then the previews and you can see more models on the home page at the same time so I prefer it that way.

I do always hover over the top corner of the avater though to see the room preview before I enter.

I use cam preview setting as my log in default. The avatars are fine, some are lovely pics showing the model at her best/ or how she defines herself, a simple right click and you can preview anyway.

My log in usually involves a simple scan of my friends online first, the preview feature avoids a few clicks to get an overview of each of my favourites mood/ look.

When exploring MFC, preview setting can offer a few extras, for example some idea of how active a model is on cam. Can be a good indicator of someone having fun on cam. Often our eye can catch a model on each exploration (even as we overlook her), if the preview varies there is a greater chance of capturing a visit, active models are so much better generally.

I find preview feature and a peek at profile far better than using the lounges for previews. I never trust anyone elses comments on others, I often find them so inaccurate especially when it comes to members opinions on models (but some types of profile comments can be worth paying attention to).

Preview setting can be a bit data hungry when actually in a room though, sometimes to get a better feed I have typed a few letters in search to limit it to a few previews.

if you leave your browser on the home page, it refreshes. (I forget what the default interval is). When you have avatars, all the pics are cached, and there is little bandwidth consequence. When you have it set to room previews, every refresh is a page full of pics being downloaded. Since I"m likely to leave myself on the all day when I forget to close a tab, this is kind of a waste.

I haven't added up how much bandwidth that actually uses. obviously nothing compared streaming video.

I am currently set to text list mode. Just realized I voted wrong when I selected avatar.
That wasn't for bandwidth reasons though. just felt like doing it.
