Are Skype shows worth it?

My camscore is super low and I've been having a slow go at keeping traffic in my room, and getting decent consistent tips. I have however had a lot of people ask me to do Skype shows. I'm a little torn, because I'd really like to profit off these offers but I realize that any time that I'm not actually online on MFC earning tokens works against my goal of raising my score.

I'm curious how other models go about Skype shows. How much is reasonable to charge per minute, and do you ask members to tip you first through MFC? I feel like skype would be a good option for slow days. Is there any particular reason people want Skype shows versus private shows?

I'm not really qualified to offer any advice on whether or not you should start doing skypes, I'll leave that to the models but I just wanted to point out that skypes can actually raise your camscore. Since camscore is basically tokens over time if you increase your tokens but decrease the time your online then the score will rise.

Skypes aren't my thing but as far as I can tell there are 2 main reasons why people like them. The picture quality is better than it is on MFC and depending on the model it can be cheaper then a private or true private, of course some models charge more but that would be totally up to you to decide what to price yours at if you decide to do them.

Models who offer Skype privates generally charge less than for MFC privates. In fact, most private-oriented sites charge less than MFC privates, i.e., $4.80-$6.40 tokens a minute. If you do decide to offer them, put it in your tags, and always get your tokens up front.

A few reasons for skype over private shows
1) can try to talk the model into additional free time (has it been x minutes already? are you sure?)
2) can try to talk her into taking paypal/amazon gc so she can be ripped off
3) 2 way dirty talk
4) cam to cam (though private shows can do that as well)
5) I have her skype so I can try to get free stuff off MFC
6) I don't have to watch my token pool dwindle.

Personally I'm a fan of #3, and the two way dirty talk.

If you offer skype:

1 Do NOT use Paypal...they can, and will, freeze your account if you're offering adult services
2 DO accept tokens UP FRONT. (it'll also raise your cam score since you won't be online but you will get a lump sum of tokens)
3 Don't walmart yourself into a race to the bottom (no reason to price yourself below a private on MFC...some girls even charge as much as a true private).
4) Agree to a set time and don't go over it without being paid for it
5) Only log in to the skype account when you're offering skypes

To be honest I do have the gift of gab, so I can almost always get more time than I pay for....which isn't fair to the model.

Though, I've also been ripped off on skype before (no sound, bad connections, etc)

The bolded points are so important to remember - there are quite a few people who want skype for those reasons and those reasons alone.


As far as timing is concerned, I know that people have created programs that will end a skype at the end of the scheduled time so you don't have to watch the clock - I would suggest finding one of those and using it.

Thanks for the tips guys! This is very helpful, especially input from members. I'm going to do a bit more poking around before I make a decision, but now I have some food for thought. Seems like it might be worth it after all.

I offer Skype shows through MFC, I charge 500tks per 10 mins and I don't do anything under 10 mins. I NEVER do a Skype without the tks being tipped first and I don't accept anything other than tks. I don't negotiate my price it is what it is don't like it find someone else lol. It's a good way to get your score up when it's slow and there is no tipping going on. If you want to maximise your time online make sure you stick to the time booked for the show, I will sometimes give 1-2 mins over but no more than that. There is a timer on screen to tell you how long the call has been once you get to about 7-8mins then let them know in a sexy way if poss lol. If they haven't done the deed after the extra 1-2mins then tough shit. Some guys are very good at trying to get more time out of you, stand your ground and don't let them get away with it especially if you are needing to get back online.

Just make sure that you use that Skype account for camming and nothing else. Also, make an email account for camming and nothing else if you have not already done so.

In my earlier time on cb I always liked doing skypes. It seemed friendlier and more laid back and less pressure filled than pvts on the site. Not having the token counter yelling at me was nice. I never realized it was so complicated and vulnerable to scammery. I would always get an hour and I don't think we were ever actually on for an hour. that's a loooong time to be on skype.

I think 600 tokens is totally reasonable!

I use skype to increase my camscore all the time. I get the tokens up front and I make it clear that I won't even log into skype or accept their skype add until the tokens are paid. I have a 10 minute minimum and for that I charge 550 tokens (I am rarely told that is unreasonable so I don't think you should have any problems with 600).

One thing I do want to suggest though is getting an VPN for when you use skype

Not a model, so can't talk from 1st hand experience, but I have heard MFC models suggest doing Skype shows charging via MFC as a way to raise up camscore. Since you're making tokens while not being online, and camscore is calculated by tokens/time, in theory, it should be great for camscore.

On the Skype side of things, I can tell you that SkyPrivate is the 3rd best earning program I'm promoting (Right behind CB and MV) if that's any testimonial to the profitability of Skype shows.

I'd been considering signing up for that SkyPrivate site (under Katy Boleyn's daily pay service...she's fantastic), as well as possibly switching over to her daily pay service for CamModelDirectory. So I'm glad to see an active thread on here about Skype.

Even if you're doing independent shows already via a service with much lower network cuts, I don't see any reason to not register for SkyPrivate. I know their directory gets decent traffic and if it generates sales just by being a part of it then it's kind of worth it in my view.

All the SkyPrivate models I've talked to are happy with it. There are some that are scared that someday Skype might ban the plugin. Just started a dialogue with JockGirlsLive / JockMenLive and they're currently implementing SkyPrivate Pro into their site. Curious to see what the final product looks like and to hear their personal feedback on the platform.

Great advice from everyone here! =) This is probably some repeat stuff but I do a lot of Skypes so...

1) I charge 500tk for 10min, NO giftcards/Paypal/etc. Stay firm on your price and tokens or SkyPrivate only.
2) Get a VPN because it's easy to get someone's IP address from a Skype. This is REALLY important.
3) If they haven't cum, tough shit they paid for 10min. You can go over by 1 or 2 mins but that's it.
4) Skype is 1080 dpi so it's higher quality, tell that to members who don't like your price.
5) It'll benefit your camscore because you're spending less time on MFC but getting more tokens, though you do have to build up the room again once you come back.
6) Chose whether you watch cams, just voice, or typing only. I am fine camming & talking with the guy. They usually prefer that because it keeps their hands free And I've gotten some excellent dirty talkers, their dialogue actually gets me over the edge. These people I talk to a bit more hehe
7) Keep track of who you Skype with. MFC name, Skype name, date you skyped, minutes, and what you did.
8) ALWAYS TIP FIRST. FOR ANYTHING. You HAVE to accept payment first.
9) If you're new some shitty members will prey on you. If anything seems odd, ask your chatroom or a regular that you trust. For every shitty scammer there are 5 or 6 nice guys that will give you good advice.

At first I was a little bit hesitated about doing Skype shows but it seem to be one of my solid income so I do recommend doing it, especially as a new model.
I can't think of anything else to add to everyone's feedbacks, recommendations and suggestions so I just wanted to confirm that I've been doing good with it.

If I may also add question here: What do you guys do about the people who try to talk to you on Skype as if you're friends? I'm all for friends but I'd like to draw a line somewhere.
