I may get some some shit for this response but here is how I feel about it.
I personally think pornography in all its facets should be done in the privacy of your own home, office, and or behind closed doors. I don't think its something that should be openly displayed and that's mostly because not everyone agrees with porn. Out of respect to others and their boundaries its probably better to just keep it private. Also you run the risk of having a child see what your doing and well that's just fucked up. In other words keep your kinks, fetishes and or naughty videos to yourself. Inadvertently exposing your pornography is just disrespectful to someone that may or may not agree with your choices.

I believe in internet freedom to an extent but why expose others to what your doing? Suppose a child walks by and sees you watching it. Not cool at all and you could possibly get yourself in a heap of trouble.

For the most part I agree with you, even though I have had my slip-ups at the supermarket. I exercised a great deal of discretion when I've done it though, also done in the a.m. hours when hardly anyone is around, certainly not children. All in all, probably not as risky as jerking off while driving down the interstate (which I do not do).
Now the little church fantasy I mentioned earlier is a different animal entirely. More of a spite thing really. If they are hell-bent on meddling with everyone's sexuality, I see no reason I shouldn't take the matter straight to them.

Pick and choose your battles my friend. You try to share a difference of opinion with someone that shares the complete opposite it will more often go south. Just not worth it to have the confrontation to convince someone that what your doing is okay. Challenging or trying to sway them in your direction of belief is almost a sure fire way to get yourself in a argument you won't win. I'm with Ruby and not even just "what if a kid sees you", but just - what if anyone sees you? I want to ride the bus, go to the library, sit in class (all places I've seen dudes looking at porn) without seeing it. I think it's gross to expose people to sexual content they don't want to see, in places they wouldn't reasonably expect to see it.
Last month there was a big scandal in Calgary because two guys and a girl were having a threesome in public, and someone recorded it on their phone and posted it online. It was super popular but the fascinating part to me was that a lot of people were saying "don't slut shame!" when people said "that's not cool". (To be fair, some of that was in response to the predictable outcome of people saying "lol she's a whore, get it bros" - but the majority of the responses were "that's gross and inappropriate".) A lot of people were also saying it was wrong of the person to film it. It was a pretty interesting reaction to me.
Can't remember where I read this (I think Tumblr? Sorry if it was here), but basically a lady came into a store upset and wanting to call the cops because there was a man chained to a bike rack, dressed in women's clothes, and she was understandably worried. So the store clerk checked on him. And it was a kink thing - his dom was shopping inside. Again I feel like that's forcing your sex life on others and clearly stressing them out on your behalf, I think that's rude and shitty.
But yeah, really not into porn/seeing people touch themselves/fucking in public. Keep it in places where people go into it knowingly - fuck at sex clubs, get naked at a nude beach (but don't touch yourself there!!!! Just an example of places you can do what you normally can't, haha).

I personally feel its a bit weird to be watching porn out in public. If your porn addiction is that strong that you cant wait a few hours until you get home then maybe you need to re-evaluate some of your life choices. If the porn in public thing is what gets you off then yeah just put on some headphones and make sure no one else can see it and dont be jerking off. No one wants to sit on a sperm covered bus seat.

Looking at porn in a public library seems down right rude.
However, I'm curious what people think about Snapchat and Twitter. I finally decided that there were too many naked pictures on my Snapchat (more pet shots and food porn though) to risk pissing off a parent looking at it in public. On the other hand Twitter while it has plenty of NFSW pictures also has important information that I need to know like my favorite model will be on cam in an hour. Generally speaking there aren't that many in your face porn pictures, but there are certainly a few.

I have opened Tumblr to boobs in public (quickly scrolled passed it just in case someone peeked over my shoulder), but I think pulling up a porn site & hitting play is a bit different. Especially because I watch some really weird porn I do not think I should be exposing non-consenting individuals to my odd sexual appetites.
