I knew a Suicide Girl and the amount money she got for her shoots was very acceptable. They did not treat her like garbage. You have to do a lot more then send them a photo to become a Suicide Girl. It can take years for a SG Hopeful to officially become a Suicide Girl. Those accusations of SG mistreating their models are just rumors that were started by anti-pornography feminists and religious conservatives.

Big fan of Suicide Girls because it introduced me to women with the alt look years ago. Not crazy about piercings, especially in the face, but a woman with cool hair and sleeves, or a tat that wraps around her side, or that covers the outer thigh and hip? Hubba frickin' hubba.

That said, I've talked to an MFC model who was on SG and left because they were paying so poorly for photo sets. She also said the site treated its girls with a real lack of respect. Maybe they'll chime in but it seems to be common knowledge amongst models that SG isn't a great place to work for. I've never looked into either site personally, though.

I have several friends who quit SG because of there treatment to models. They also do not want you camming or doing anything else. I would 100 percent recommend Gods Girls for any girl looking for something like SG. They also pay like crap- I know this because I was chosen and they gave me there pay structure and its laughable. I declined due to the fact you can't cam and a bunch of other rules that are quite ridiculous.


Also its well known that they treat there models like shit - nobody would have had to tell me because I have heard some horror stories from girls I don't even know as well.

SG does pay better per set than GodsGirls but look at your favorite SG model, how often does she upload sets? I can upload weekly to GG so that equals way more pay. Also, as long as my set meets the photography level standards it gets accepted. The girls who upload sets as a hopeful have their porn on a popular site and aren't getting paid. That bothers a lot of people but it's ultimately up to the girl if that's a problem for them or not. There are SG hopefuls here and I don't want to offend anyone, we are all perfectly capable of deciding what site is best for us

I like the idea of suicide girls, I also saw their "burlesque" show... It was wildly entertaining but to call it burlesque, well, I won't get into that.
I do really like a large percent of their models, they're really beautiful and interesting people. For the longest time I wanted to be a suicide girl but I have decided against trying for various reasons.
Mostly is that you don't really profit, the site does. As an sg hopeful you will pay their photographers (who are quite expensive) and *hope* that one day you'll eventually make their set of the day, meanwhile they profit off your image while you make shit.
When you become an sg it seems much the same. Set of the day makes money, but everything else doesn't. And they're ringing in the bucks, it makes no sense for them not to compensate their girls.
You can cam, though. There's a few sg's on mfc. They don't consider myfreecams to be a competitor, and it's only their "competitors" you can't work for. It would be a good marketing tactic and promotion if you alreay had the means and money to finance being a suicidegirl (photographer, makeup, lingerie, tattoos, etc).
I still follow them on Twitter and Instagram, and part of me still kind of wants to be an sg despite knowing how they treat and compensate their models, but I'll never try for it.

They've been around a while. They're easy to find, and they're softcore enough that people can ignore a bit that they're looking at porn. You know how you can go to McDonalds easily and get a hamburger super cheap? It's kind of a hamburger, and it will do from time to time. But, put it next to a real grilled burger, and you see the difference.

That's SuicideGirls. Mass produced. Easy access. Cheapish. But, they're boxing up and selling something kind of fake.

My guess is because they were one of the first to do this.

They worked hard right at the beginning, got a ton of publicity and, for a while, made their name synonymous with sexy alt-porn.

When you develop a wide reputation like that, the reputation can far outlast the reality. There's probably also a lot of residual goodwill from people like me who liked the site when it first got started and still think of it in those terms, instead of the current reality.

But it seems to be catching up to them.

ETA: And yeah, what Jicky said. It's softcore, so people equate it more with looking at Playboy than porn, which isn't really much of a distinction, but self-delusion is a human art form.

Was it CamGod that was just not even paying people? Also, just about any studio that models sign up to cam sites with. With the exception of daily pay studios. Clipvia send an apology instead of payment every month so that's something. As for other mainstream porn sites, I don't really know and I'm not sure if the models here will really be able to help with that.
