Hi all. I happen to have a new favorite model on mfc, and she's very 'noobish' when it comes to the entire operation. But most notably, she doesn't know virtually anything regarding the technical aspects of the webcam setup and how it relates to mfc.
She told me she's on a mac, and from what I've gathered, most Macs have very good quality web cameras. However, her mfc video is VERY grainy/oversaturated/distorted. So, instead of urging her to buy a new webcam, I figure perhaps a fellow model on here that also uses a mac might help shed some guiding light on the subject so I can share the settings with her.
Background info:
- her pictures is very granulated/pixelated/colors washed out
- she has a very good cable connection, so everything is smooth
- lighting could be better, but I'm 99 percent sure that's not the issue, as it was the same quality even when she was in a well-lit room
- no 'HD' designation from the mfc viewers perspective, so thus it appears she doesn't have it enabled
I know for my own personal external logitech webcam, there is a checkbox that enables 'automatic' settings for the webcam, which greatly sharpens the picture and makes it HD (instead of granulated), but requires good lighting or it will look choppy. Not sure about macs, however.
I don't have access to the mfc interface, so is there any particular place she should be looking to enable HD, or any particular buttons she should be looking out for in order to optimize the video stream quality?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
