Tell people you sell stuff online on Ebay. if they question why you dont have a house full of product, tell them you list and sell stuff that is filled and shipped by a dropshipper.
Which you can actually set up and do for real, in a limited way to make the lie only a semi-lie.
Someone ill find out eventually. I agree with Alex.
If my daughter was making a decent living all by herself, I wouldn't care if she was a stripper a cam girl or a lawyer. She's an adult, when I was her age I did as I pleased where I pleased, and my folks if they had any clue what I was doing would have been pretty pissed off at times, I have no doubt. I lied to them too, when it was just easier than explaining the truth.
I'd be far more concerned that some whacko would try to find her and harm her, rather than be concerned with what she was doing for a living.... so you have to expect a parent to sort of have that WTF moment when they find out.
It's the 21st century, parents have to come into the light with everyone else, I cant see any parent who grew up in the age I did (I'm 46) having a big issue with it. But I grew up in a very open minded social setting, with fairly open minded parents. (religious as they were back then, at times).
Every family is different, you know best how yours would react to the idea.....
Perhaps, if you showed them how in control of it you are and, how much you make and stand to make in the future, that would help, if they had a better understanding of it all.
Unless you have conservative religious folks, in which case, a really good lie might just be way easier.
lol
Whatever you make up to tell people, you better be able to back it up to some degree, because it only takes ONE smart ass little bastard with a chip on his/her shoulder to out what you really do.
