I'm east coast. We were told to be ready to lose power. Still have power. It's windy, but our shelters are being shut down, warnings lifted. Tropical storm Colin was worse over here at least. Hope everyone else is staying safe!

stay safe everyone, i havnt seen much about it on the news here in the uk but seen on twitter quite a few people have had to leave :/ scary stuff

Back on since Matthew backhanded us at about 4:30 Sat. lost power and then the winds came howling all night . rains bypassed us here at the coast mostly but ocean surge was wicked. rains were heavy more inland with flooded roads and downed trees. lost a good bit of shingle tabs, probably time for a new roof. travel inland is spotty due to road closures and water. lost 2 ocean piers due to wave action and surge, rebuilding will be good for jobs. today came up all sunny and nice.

I think when the effects of the storm hit here it was post-tropical, but even still a lot of areas were flooded, parts of the highways washed out (in some cases cutting off entire towns), and there were some pretty widespread power outages. Repairs are in the works now, and the weather's been improving. That said, we've been warned that Hurricane Nicole is heading our way in the coming days, so it may be time to hunker down again. Hopefully she stays far enough out to sea that there are minimal impacts
