This is something that I learned almost 8 years ago now. Just glad someone was able to eloquently explain why paying for porn is better than free porn.

My only critique, the video sort of glosses over the amount of work it takes to build a following/subscriber base.

I've seen a lot on twitter lately onlyfans girls complaining that everyone loves their basic selfies but has no interest in professionally shot videos, it's something I learned years ago from cam work is just how valuable amateur porn is because it gives a much more "real" feeling. In a world where most of us have been consuming professional porn videos/images like we're chugging smarties whether we want to or not for the past 15 years it becomes desensitising. More personal content where you feel you can have some connection with the performer is a completely different niche, but it's a valuable one.
However, I do think more emphasis should be raised on how much work it takes most people to get money from camwork/onlyfans. I've never used onlyfans, but it seems to take a lot of work to gain a following if you don't already have one. Most people who just walk into it and kill it without doing hardcore content already have a following from youtube/instagram/twitch etc. Or I imagine they're pretty hot. I have heard a fair amount of long-term cam models expressing that they think lot's of people publicly posting their earnings are actually bullshitting. I don't know how this would work, but if there isn't an on site ranking system where others can see a person's ranking then lying about it would be quite a good idea (though morally not ok) if you want to gain exposure. On MFC just having a high ranking, high room count or people tipping encourages more, I imagine that gaining exposure by sharing ridiculous onlyfans earnings might gain some interest.

I was literally just thinking earlier how crazy it is that onlyfans is so well known now. I've heard so many people in real life making casual jokes about it. It sends a little bit of shock through me after years of keeping my camsite name private. The online industry is certainly a different place nowadays than it once was.

We do have to bring our own traffic, the only internal traffic would come from being a suggested creator on another model's page. Which apparently you get on by making "friends" with other models.

I have actually gotten a couple of subscribers that way. But ultimately all of my fans come from my advertisement posts around the web and from MFC viewers.

I am not sold and never have been when it comes to Onlyfans. I feel like the company itself isn’t very competent, particularly support by the sounds of it. And to earn huge money on a site with poor support is bloody scary imo.

I also think people should be realistic about the lane they are in. Majority of the girls earning juicy sums are either famous or porn famous which makes it far more achievable. Then the second tier will be girls who either have big cam followings/popularity Or are natural porn hustlers or have a tram working for them.
Then there’s the rest of us who run our business, average Popularity and following and work hard who probably settle for around the $2000-$3000 average monthly mark.

I ain’t on onlyfans so I could be wrong but this is the vibe I get.

You're probably not wrong, but I can vouche for its success by saying I've been "tapering off" of camming for the last year, but was able to start Onlyfans and within a few months was earning more than I was on my cam site each month. So it's a great platform for those who have a lot of content to put out there. And since Onlyfans is becoming more well known everywhere, there are more and more paying fans signing up for the platform in general, which makes it all that much easier to casually check out one of us if the happen upon our reddit or twitter post with our link.

When anyone subscribes to a service, be a game, porn, tv, extra. It's often because the consumer find value in the service. And a customized service tend to be more valuable. Especially when if it's catering to the desires of the customer.

You have to remember something like this is better than Snapchat, in my opinion. For the main fact on Snapchat, you can see content for only as long as you're allowed, but only up to the 24hr period.
I know there are ways around that and to download/save, but obviously content on snap is also shorter than places like OF. So even if you're "only" getting teaser clips from OF, generally speaking, they are still longer than the ones on Snap, so something like OF will be better long term. Plus on top of that, you can watch/see the OF content using desktop and laptop, whereas with Snapchat unless you use an emulator (which can be super slow) you can't.


My Point: So for me personally I think OnlyFans is much better and will continue to be if Snapchat has lasted this long and is still going strong, OF should continue to as well.

Exactly this. For me, I honestly couldn't care less about a "girlfriend experience".
What I am wanting is that personal, HUMAN touch. That NATURAL feel (even despite you may be faking it and acting, most are not too obvious for this). Watching a pre-recorded video, amateur or professional, still doesn't quite touch you (giggity) in the same way as a personal/custom show does. Maybe just because the scripts are very obvious, and acting skills are usually terrible lol.
