For the last few months, I've been having incredibly annoying stuttering problems while on MFC. At times, I'd literally get a half second of video, and 2 seconds of pausing. My internet speed was always constant, and I wasn't able to find a cure... but I did find a strange treatment.

For whatever reason, if I upload a video to YouTube while viewing cams, the stuttering/lag problems stop completely. It makes absolutely no sense to me, and I was hoping someone here had an easy solution to fix my problem. (Canadian Bandwidth limits are a pain in the ass, so uploading all the time isn't a great solution)

Thanks in advance!

PS - I use Chrome, but also have the same problem with Internet Explorer.

Are you on a laptop? Or even if you are on a desktop do you have a wireless adapter for your internet? (vs. ethernet cord directly plugged in)

I ask this because my very first guess would be the wireless card is either going bad OR you have the power settings set to power savings mode for it.

Assuming you're using a wireless adapter (and I'm also assuming windows OS since you mentioned IE) go to control panel >> power options. For the current power plan you are on 'change plan settings' then click on 'Change advanced power settings. In the advanced settings box that popped up look for Wireless Adapter Settings. Did it get changed to anything besides 'Maximum Performance?' If so change it to that.

I guess I should've specified the setup I'm using.

I'm on a desktop, with a wired connection.
8 GB of RAM
Tons of HD space
AMD Athlon II X4 635 Processor
Windows 7
Nvidia GeForce 650 Ti

I have seen other Canadians with the same problem, but they would be fine on Skype or Chaturbate.

I'm getting the same thing, but it is only with specific models. Very strange and annoying.
Does the problem temporarily fix itself if the person starts uploading a video? In my case, YouTube.

Not that I've noticed.

MFC seems to have a litany of connection problems in general. Some times a model will have outstanding connection, and suddenly the "My webcam is having problems connecting" screen pops up. Out of nowhere, they're disconnected.

I also wonder if your wifi connection is shotty. As for a possible solution, you can try plugging an ethernet cable to your comp.

One last thing, since you're a model, it would benefit you to get yourself verified for the sake of the "models only" content within these forums

What gave you the impression that he was a model?

lol, I'm not a model. Although my Mom says I'm a very handsome young man :p

I've always used a wired / ethernet connection when using MFC. The problems started in the Summer, for no apparent reason. It's the strange solution that has me puzzled. One would think that by using up bandwidth by uploading a video to YouTube, that'd make my connection to MFC worse, but it doesn't. It stops the stuttering problem all together.

whoops.

well i'm sure you're vur handsome indeed

Try using a VPN, and see if that makes any difference. Your computer doesn't need to be anything special to get a clean feed off MFC.

I have the same problem when trying to view other models sometimes. It's not my internet or wifi connection- we have 40 down/10 up. Since I got my new webcam (logitech c910) it'll happen sometimes when I'm broadcasting- some guys in the room will have that problem, but others won't. It's reeeeeeeeeally annoying.

I've experienced that a few times too. (Even at work with a gigabit connection!)

A few models will become completely unwatchable due to stuttering audio/video, even though other models are fine. I remember one time around August 2012 where my favorite model was unwatchable for days. I could watch a dozen other models at once (even models broadcasting HD) with no stuttering. But just that one other model (non-HD) would be unwatchable, as were certain other models. Other members in the room had no problems at all.

I've seen it a few times since, but usually not for more than a few hours every couple of months. When it happens it seems like about 10% of models are affected.

I know two other people who have had the problem much more often than I have. One is in Amsterdam and has the problem fairly regularly. If he uses a VPN to the US it usually (but not always) helps. The other is in California (as am I) and seemed to have the problem for most of the second half of 2012 and the first few months of 2013. But he is no longer on MFC.

I have a few ideas of what might be causing it, but without knowing the specifics of how MFC has their streaming video servers set up it's impossible to be certain.

But in any case it's quite clearly a problem on MFC's side, not the models' or members' connections.

i have an issue with the software it keeps saying detecting for the sound but can use the browser for camming fine with the mic...anyone have an idea how to fix this? ive tried deleting and re installing it and it did the same thing....should i just contact mfc support and have them figure out and fix this issue and does anyone else have the same issue :woops:
