Usually somewhere between flippant and glib.
Did you get your ticket(s) yet?

New York alone is selling $3 million worth of tickets PER HOUR! People are waiting in lines for HOURS just to buy tickets.

I always thought the lottery was for people bad at math. The thought of a one time payment of around $340 million is pretty damn attractive though and I'll give it a shot for a few bucks. Can't win if you don't play, right?

There is a 5% chance nobody wins tonight and next Tuesday's lottery amount may be over $1 Billion.

I only play the $1 scratch off tickets. I'm too chicken to try for anything higher or to play more than once a month. I almost always win the $1 tickets when I do play though and I usually win about $3 a card or so.

The mega millions tickets only cost $1! :)

I bought a few tickets, and I know that realistically there's a 0 chance of me winning but it's too much money to pass up even that slim of a chance.

People be greedy. 360 mil is honestly no more or less attractive than 10 mil (to me, anyway). It's more than I'll ever need to live comfortably (more than comfortably; luxuriously) and with either amount, I'd wind up giving most of it away anyway.
Although, with 360 mil I could probably buy my own country... :?

Ok, now I know why yesterday every second Joe Bloob was telling Amber when he won the lottery he'd give her blah blah, and saw this. I swear, to someone who isn't immersed in your nation and culture sometimes it's like you guys are doing a real life version of trending on twitter :p

Having worked in plenty of gas stations... the Mega Ball isn't worth the money. The power ball with power play is totally worth the money.

1. Your odds of winning anything are bigger with Power Ball
2. If you have power play, any non-jackpot win is at least doubled, if not multiplied by 5.

That means if you have all but one number, instead of $200,000 you'd get at least $400,000, maybe up to $1,000,000.

In the MegaBall, don't get the kicker. Not only do all the numbers in the kicker need to match, they need to be in the exact same order, which lowers the odds considerably.

I put in 5 dollars at work with 30 other people because I wasn't going to be the one jackass showing up for work that day if they had won. would have split to about 10.5 mill per and I'd have been able to live off that for a couple years.

I've never bought a lottery ticket. I do not ever plan to buy a lottery ticket. I am actually ahead on the lottery. I have been gifted a few Powerball tickets in Christmas stockings.

Total I've Spent: $0
Total I've Won: $25

The story of this woman that claims she has the winning ticket and then decided to wear a Sweet Swine hat for her TV interview is getting beyond bizarre.

16x9

Now she says she can't find the ticket after previously saying she hid it at the McDs she worked at where nobody but her could find it.

http://www.newser.com/story/143515/mega ... chan3_feed
Mirlande Wilson, who first claimed she won the Mega Millions lottery separately from her pool of co-workers, then said she hid the winning ticket at the McDonald's where they all work, now says she's lost the ticket. "I have no idea where it is. I’m not sure I have it," Wilson tells the New York Post. And, because a lost ticket that's potentially worth millions of dollars isn't all that big of a deal, she says she hasn't even looked in the pants of the uniform she was wearing when she purchased the ticket.

Even so, she confusingly continues, "I’m still looking everywhere to find it, in my purse, everywhere." But she won't let her seven kids help: Says a daughter, "I wanted to look for it, I was crying. She wouldn’t let us. It’s a lot of money." But Wilson herself believes that the gift is "a blessing from God. If it’s meant to be, we’ll [find and] claim the ticket.

She's frantically looking everywhere but hasn't even looked in the pants of the uniform she was wearing when she purchased the ticket? How does she know if it's even the winning ticket then??

3 year old children make up better lies than that.

I hope she's lying. I'd rather not see a fantastic amount of money like that go to someone so... dumb?

I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that she made the whole story up, nothing she's done, as far as I've heard at least, has made any sense. She called a press conference then showed up late and asked the reporters to leave.
Plus there's no way in hell anyone would not check every pocket of every piece of clothing they had if there was a possibility of a $100+ million dollar piece of paper in it.

She made the whole thing up?! There's still time to find the golden ticket! I am going to buy 1 wonka bar!

I can't believe they used that smiley lol
Very, very wise to remain anonymous. Now all they have to do is find somewhere no one knows them to spend all their money without leeches lol.

Awwww... Say it ain't so! The winning ticket wasn't in the Sweet Swine Pork Rinds hat wearer's work pants after all, Mirlande made it all up! Who'd a thunk it! Can you say "Attention Whore?" That woman needs professional help and makes me wonder about her 7 kids.

Glad to hear teachers won though!.

Despite her initial claims, McDonald's worker Mirlande Wilson didn’t actually win the Mega Millions lottery. She just made that story up ... for reasons unknown.

The Maryland woman claimed she won the lottery but couldn’t find the ticket, perhaps in hopes that someone would just take her word and cut her a check.

Alas, three winners - all female teachers from Maryland who wish to remain anonymous - have come forward to claim the record $218 million winnings.

This was a disappointment to Wilson, but she's hanging in there.

“I’m doing OK,” she said about finding out that her “missing ticket” ultimately didn’t have the winning numbers. “That’s alright that I didn’t win this time.”

The winners, who call themselves “the three amigos,” were “privately laughing” about Wilson, who publicly proclaimed herself the winner before they did.

When asked why she claimed to have the winning ticket, Wilson said, “I don’t even know what happened, but everybody doesn’t know what really happened.”

Okay then. “If the money is for getting then I’m going to get it,” she added, while her sister added that she will "no doubt" keep playing Mega Millions.

“If she has $20 and spends $19, she’ll take the last $1 and buy a ticket,” she said.

I spent $5 and only managed to win $10 fuck pretty good for my first time playing the lottery

When I worked in a large office building, I was in the lottery pool and spent $5 a week for 4 years along with about 15-20 others. That's $1000 each, outgoing. Our total winnings were 5 free tickets and an amazing win of $90. How stomach-churning is that, for a group of people to invest between $15,000 and $20,000 and get that type of return? lol. More fun to set fire to it.

I really just see lotteries as extra taxes for governments and a way to exploit the poor and uneducated. Have you ever taken a good look at the people lining up for their tickets? And the poorer the area, the longer the line up.
