As the title says, I've been camming for 5 years and consider myself as doing pretty well. I only work on SM, and dont feel like I put in much effort into public chat, because I've always made hwat I consider great money and so I haven't felt like I need to go above and beyond and I jsut do what makes me comfortable. I only show my face in shows, never in public, and for the most part make $100-$120/hour (except fort he last year, it's been slower). I get told almost daily that my dirty talk is unmatched. I'm conventionally attractive and fit. Yet I have only made over $1k in a day one time, in 5 years. One other day I made $900, a few days $700, more $500-$600, and obviously many more the cheaper it gets. As far as large tips coming from one person, that was the $1.2k day. I know a large part of it is I've only ever clocked 5 hours in a day at the absolute max, it's usually more like 2-4. I've only ever had 3 other guys that have tipped upwards of $600 in a single payment or session. It just doesn't seem to add up to me? When I actually participate in SM contests I usually place 200-300s, for 3-5 hours a day, 5 days a week. I know I'm not putting in max effort, but I feel like for still doing so well for so little, and having 5 years under my belt, I should've met a few more whales by now. Is this unusual?

dude that is amazing! and as a torso only in freechat. high fucking five bb! i never worried about contests, and work them like a normal day and you can still place well or terribly. it really depends on how everyone else is doing. my ranking would be the same as yours usually on contest working days. you are competing with models who are streaming for 24 hours during that time plus the influx of models online. hey an extra $25 bonus for working a contest day like any normal day is a nice little bonus. thanks streamate for paying for dinner. like an outback giftcard
honestly i believe you are putting in the max effort while not pushing your limitations. one thing that burns models out is pushing themselves when they aren't comfortable with something. may it be doing certain acts, showing face, or creating clips. again congratulations on your success! streamate is a hardsite being a faceless freechat model. seriously AMAZING!

About whales. Sorry i didnt touch that.
This is my opinion from experience as a successful streamate model. Whales arent necessary to succeed. They can be nice, but really what you want is the ability to maintain a rotating door audience. Are you finding people who purchase shows/content/tip are both recurring and new? Its okay if one is more than the other, but as long as you keep seeing new people.
I dont believe its good to focus on whales, because they will eventually go away. They may need to cut back spending or get into a relationship or caught. Depending your income on a few big spenders is volatile.
I run/ran my room on a first come first serve basis. I will not deny someone a show so i can get a show with the whale who i know is going to spend double maybe triple that. I also know that same whale more than likely going to wait his turn because he knows and respects my rules. I also will not cancel goldshows because someone wants private if people have tipped into the show.
