2011 is going to a be a big year for game releases

there are some killer titles releasing this year.

here are a few that interest me, but i dont think ill have time to play all of them properly.

battlefield 3
portal 2
elder scrolls v: skyrim
diablo 3 (maybe?)


and can't forget to mention that duke nukem forever is actually happening. it doesn't excite me all that much, but its a pretty epic release considering its history. are there any games coming out this year that you guys are especially excited about?

In MMOs, Rift will release in a couple of weeks and TERA will be out in Q3 or Q4.

Diablo 3, being a Blizzard game, will take a lot longer than that to come out. They've only been working on it since roughly summer of 2008 (they began hiring people to work on Diablo properties with MMO experience). Since they've also put out Starcraft 2 and Cataclysm in that period, most of that is probably back-burner development (we know they've been moving staff around to prioritize WoW development). So my guess is 2012 for Diablo. I wouldn't be surprised if we see that at the end of 2012 either.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 just came out. Bulletstorm is coming out soon. New Zelda game. Gears of War 3. Mortal Kombat in April. Two Lego games (Star Wars and PotC). Possibly the NGP from Sony (which if the PSP is any indication will get 1 good game a year at most). Dawn of War 2: Retribution. Deus Ex. Most of those are in the next couple months.

I'll be happy to see Diablo 3 released this year, but I'm willing to wait as long as it takes.

Anyway, there are even some screenshotsof a 2005 version that got scrapped altogether. There's still a chance it will be released this year, but 2012 is more likely. I'm just not sure I'll care anymore.

I believe they actually admitted they took people off Starcraft 2 so they could work more on Cataclysm. Which means they're probably taking people off Diablo 3 as well. Plus they have to make the next 2 Starcraft 2 games and the next WoW expansion. Plus being that it's Blizzard, they hate you and don't care what you think because you'll buy the game anyways. So 2013.
I honestly stopped caring about Diablo a long time ago. Like around when they couldn't even keep people honest online in the first game.

Right now the game i'm focusing on is Dragon Age 2, though I'll probably cave sooner than later and get Marvel vs Capcom 3. And then there is mass effect 3 at the end of the year.

MVC 3 just came out, I want to finish Dragon Age before tackling the sequel, Skyrim looks very good, I can't wait to see some hands on videos in the next few months. That Warhammer 40k Space Marine game looks like it might be good. I can't think of anything else this year that I'm really looking forward to.

I finally got the awakening DLC for dragon age, I can't wait to see how the story and the choices from the first game carry over to the 2nd because my choices were so fucked up I left my world in chaos for sure.

I'm glad that MVC3 came out my PS3 was getting no love from me since I was playing Super Mario All Stars for the Wii for a while, but I'm excited for the new Elder Scrolls game
