Hey all, So I decided to start a thread so anyone can discuss anything WiiU related. Whether it be if one should buy one or if someone wants to talk WiiU games.

I feel that it's a bit underrated as a system. It sadly doesn't have as many games as some of the other systems on the market out there, but it does have some good games that have just released plus some new ones on the horizon.

I'm currently playing the new Smash Bros. on it as well as Mario Kart 8. I'm hoping to add Hyrule Warriors to that soon!

I really wish it would gain more popularity. I really like it other than the short battery life of the GamePad but that's understandable since it's essentially like a mini TV.

I've been playing Smash lately, and I like it although I never played previous versions all too much so I can't really compare. Mario Kart 8 is a lot of fun! I'm also excited for Mario Party 10 even though they're sticking with the shorter game play like in 9. My favorite game for it is Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and is the whole reason I even got the system. 4 Ultimate comes out this March and I can't waiiiiiittt! Has anyone tried the Amiibos yet? I'm waiting to get Rosalina in February.

I need to play everything I own for this. I got it mostly for Wind Waker HD, and bypassed the new sail cause I never knew it was a thing. Then loaded up on too many games, and got overwhelmed. Wonderful 101 is slightly insane. ZombiU seems good, but I was not willing to put in that much time. LEGO City Undercover... is a open world GTA like game with too much to do. Hyrule Warriors... And I restarted Xenoblade Chronicles on it, cause I'm going to NEED Xenoblade Chronicles X...

We just got a WiiU for Christmas and I'm so excited, I'm loving it so far! We've been playing Nintendo 3D World which came with the system and is lots of fun. It's a bit tough because it's a game that encourages competing with each other in a cooperative game. There are an annoying amount of opportunities to mess with each other but if you're playing with people who want to play nice, it's awesome!

I don't have any, but some of my friends got some and were disappointed because they thought they would work like Skylanders and Disney Infinity and let you play AS the character. I guess you actually NEVER get to play as the character but you have the option of playing against or with them (as an ally) in some games. It does save info and level up but I think it wasn't what they expected. They still look SUPER cute though! I love Rosalina, I bet her Amiibo is so pretty! ^.^

Yeah, I've been pretty disappointed in the Amiibos. I was also under the impression that they would work like the Skylanders & Disney Infinity figures (which are awesome), but sadly they don't. I was a bit irritated that you actually have to "set them up" on your WiiU one you get them. The Skylanders/Infinty are pretty much ready to use right out of the package. They're super cool looking though, Samus is next on my list, she looks amazing!!! I'm also need to figure out how Smash Bros. works in conjunction with the 3DS version.

Got a Wii U last year after I was horribly disappointed in the XBox One. We snagged a bunch of Amiibos for xmas for the minis. I love the figures, but only three games that I'm aware of use them. I think between this and Infinity 2.0 we're stuck buying cool figures for a while. I thought we got out of it with being bored with Skylanders, but they just pull you back in!

Just my quick take on what I've experienced:
--Mario 3D World is a ton of fun and playable with multiple people
--Super Mario Wii U is fun, best of the "New Super Mario"s thus far. Still hate multiplayer (or divorce mode, as PA called it), though.
--Wind Waker HD is GORGEOUS
--NES Remix and Remix 2 are the best games on the shop
--Annoyed that I had to pay extra to port over the games I already owned on the Virtual Console for the Wii...and that they aren't all on there yet.
--I LOVE LOVE LOVE that I don't HAVE to play with janky motion controls for ever game.
--Classic Controller Plus is a great controller, but even the big pad doesn't feel clunky
--Infinity 1.0 is free on the Shop, which is awesome that my kids can use all their stuff

This is pretty much what i wanted out of the Wii. HD output and non-motion controls. I'm perfectly pleased with it so far. :-D

You shouldn't have to pay to do that, you can just move everything over from your Wii with a tool and an SD card. I mean, yeah, you gotta boot into Wii mode, but it'll all be there once you do the transfer

But if you want to play games on the Wii U virtual console (because the Gamepad is much better than Wiimote!) you have to pay extra to move each game from the Wii VC to the Wii U VC. :( (And it's stupid that not all games are available on Wii U VC yet, but then Nintendo has always been bad about actually putting games on the VC.)

Ohh. Well, then. I've got a Classic Controller thing for my Wii, so never bothered looking much at that, I guess.

Yup, I wasn't very clear above. I paid the $1.00 or $1.50 to have the VC game native in the Wii U Menu, not to go through Wii Mode. Mostly so I can just play it on the pad, separate from the TV. BTW, playing on the pad while someone else uses the TV is one of its best features, IMO. I can just pick it up and play whenever on the small screen and a pair of headphones.

Yeah, my main use of the Wii U (as opposed to my PS3 and PS4) is when my girlfriend is using the TV for something else. :)
