EVERY news station is running this story of a dance crew of 7 year old girls dancing to Beyonce's "Single Ladies". The arguement is that this song and coreography of this act is way to provocative for a bunch of 7 year olds to be preforming. Here it is:
I watched it. I was not sexually stimulated one bit. Nor was I offended by it! The thought that ANYONE could be *turned on* by a dancing 7 year old makes me want to puke! There are 100s of message boards discussing this story right now. Some of the most disturbing comments I saw are, "their parents should lose custody of their children", to "these little whores in training."
In my opinion, these little girls are merely having fun, with other little girls, in an artistic performance atmosphere. They aren't out doing this on the street; they are on stage. the last time I checked, none of the little boys from the old Lord of the flies movies grew up to be cannibals! Likewise, none of these little girls is the posterchild for miss MFC April 2022 (I couldn't resist!)
I will say that these girls are ADORABLE and very talented, and I wouldn't mind my little girl (if I had one) doing an ACT like this herself with a bunch of her girl friends. I would be proud if my kid was that good at something she liked to do!
thoughts??
