Why are couple cammers with DECENT audio the exception rather than the rule?

I don't think model sites rank by view count,

Chaturbate ranks by room count. MFC ranks by income per hour. Streamate has a ranking based on multiple factors.

learned some thing new :D

I assumed CB wasn't, because models can bounce around the landing page minute by minute. And often there are people with 200 viewers listed way above people with 600 viewers.

How on earth is everyone managing to get their webcam mics to work? I don't know if my computer is just a buttface, but I have never been able to get my webcam mic to cooperate, even after playing with the settings. Both the 9000 and the C920 cut in & out for me. I use my laptop's built in mic, and it's pretty darn great. I only get complaints about my audio when Streamate is glitching and some dude whines that my sound is "broken", despite another dude in the room responding to what I'm saying at the same time that dude A is complaining instead of refreshing his browser, which fixes the problem 99% of the time.
That sounds like you had the "right sound" setting turned on.

I thought so at first. Even when I turn that off, I still get complaints that it's cutting out, so I stopped using my webcam mic entirely.

Erm, you know you’re really making yourself sound like an entitled asshole? No one wants to “take out a loan” or “make an investment” for people like you who aren't even customers, just lurkers who do nothing for us.

When I first started camming I had shitty everything. One of my first privates was with a guy who wanted me to have better video quality.. so he sent me an amazon gift card to buy a new cam! It’s that easy! Now he can see my pussy in HD wow what a concept

Camming wasn’t a “last resort” for me but why would I spend even $60 that I don’t have to? Funny you act like 60 bucks is so cheap but you aren’t willing to spend even a fraction of that for what you want

I am terribly sorry that you got that impression of me. What I was trying to say is that a model with bad sound and/or video is less likely to get my to stay in the room for more than a couple of minutes at most, which will likely not be enough time for personality to come through. The reason I don't stay in a room longer is that time is precious and I want to be entertained when I am watching MFC. It is easier to move a long to another room where the audio and video is good and tip that model that looks to be more serious about camming.

Because of the number of new models that starts camming and then quit after a couple of weeks I don't think it is fun to try and get to know new models who might not be serious about camming and is just trying it out. Unfortunately it also means that I don't get to know new people who are serious like you were because they don't have good equipment. Also since I am not rich I simply don't have enough money to buy decent equipment for every new model that starts camming. $60 is not a lot of money if you only have to pay it once but if we consider that there are hundreds of new models starting out every year I would be destitute before I had bought equipment for all of them.

I have definitely noticed a difference when I've been
in a room where a model has a Blue external mic. Sounds lovely if they're just sitting at the desk speaking (like a CS:GO player would be doing), but as soon as they get up to do something sexilicious, can barely hear them speak.

I went and borrowed a friends Snowball to test it out. You are right about that it doesn't do a good job at picking up sound when you are too far away. When I got more then three feet away from the mic the drop in audio quality became noticeable and the volume felt a bit low. And at a distance over 6 feet I would not want to use it. However When I was closer than 6 feet the Snowball had better audio quality then the mic in my Logitech C910. After all the point with having an external USB mic was for a camming couple to move the mic closer while having the webcam at a distance so they would both fit in frame. I still feel that this would be a better option than using the built in microphone. Just in case there is a difference between the mic in the C910 and the C920 I will get a C920 and check it out.

My C910 doesn't cut out but it has a very sharp and tinny sound quality to it and no matter what I do I can't get it to sound good.

What do you consider 'acceptable audio' for 30?

Twitch streamers spend like 100-500 on their mics per person. The setup for a group shot is like 400-900 per mic.

I don't think model sites rank by view count, Or have advertisements with profit sharing. So they're not focused on total viewer count like twitch.

It does raise and interesting question. Could advertisements be a profit model for models.

I think the Snowball would give acceptable audio at that price for a couple camming. Myself I have a Rode NT1-A connected to a Behringer Xenyx Q802 USB mixer but I wouldn't recommend that setup to a model partly because of the cost.

I agree.

Most of them are just doing it for fun.

Also real good audio setup (no plug and play but pro ) is very expensive.

Plug and play microphones are not the best yet the blue yeti is over 100 dollars...

The best plug and play with real quality audio on the market is the Samson meteor and it cost less than 50 bucks on amazon.

Real good deal
