My real all time favorite is Wings of Desire. Don’t watch the US remake, watch the original by Win Wenders. I have a strong memory of Nick Cave’s cameo in the movie , especially since I ran into him a few days later. Highly recommended.

It's an amazing film, though when I think of romance films it doesn't immediately spring to mind. Wenders' "Paris, Texas" is one of my all time favourite films.
My own choice would be Some kind of wonderful, not just because of that kiss. Would have been Pretty in pink, but Hughes wrote the wrong ending.

As for me, "The Princess Bride" will always be the top romantic film of all time.
I used to love The Princess Bride as a kid! Last time I got sad I watched the Princess Bride and I felt so much better.

Foreign film, "In The Mood For Love" is at this moment my favorite romance movie. The director, Wong Kar Wai has a handful of other movies that are also excellent and quite romantic but this takes the cake. Between the music, the slow motion and, long take/close-up shots its just stunning. For anyone who doesn't mind reading subtitles, I highly recommend it!
