I wanted to reach out to the model's who read/post here and get your feedback on what, if anything, I might do(should?) in regards to the following incident I witnessed a few days ago...

I've been stewing on this a few days thinking about how to best present what I witnessed while viewing a certain room on a certain site a few days ago.

As a member/viewer, I've seen my fair share of shady things that have occurred while viewing cam feeds over the years, but a few days ago I was watching a female model getting prepared for her stream as she was putting on the finishing touches of her makeup and whatnot. All of a sudden I could hear a male's voice as he entered her room and began yelling at her. Her gaze shifted towards this person in her room and she said something to him while still putting on her makeup, when all of a sudden I could see a man's arm as it swung into view and he delivered a very strong, open-handed slap to the model's face. The slap delivered enough force to make her drop the item in her hand as she covered her jaw from where she was slapped. Within a few seconds she reached over and stopped her feed as tears began flowing down her face.

I have no idea what was being said, as she, and the male, were speaking in what appeared to be russian(?).

This incident has really affected me on a personal level, and my thoughts are now embroiled in a battle of what my spending habits on cam sites might be facilitating in terms of abuse and whatnot.

Would any specific cam site have the ability to record non-private sessions such as this so as to have proof of the incident if I should decide to report this? Or, should I just move on?

I think u just need to move on , guess she had a fight with her bf ,,,nothing u can do or the site . He wasnt showing up on cam so site cant do nothing also might create her problems and site ending up closing her account, then double pain for her, jerk bf and account closed so my advice leave her alone she doesnt need more problems ,

Wtf Ana. No don't move on. Report it to the site. If the payment processors get word of this, then the whole site is fucked and every models.

This isn't a fight between boyfriend and girlfriend but domestic violence. A fight is when you argue. Hitting your significant other out of anger is abuse.

Or this could be a woman who is being trafficked or forced.

That's still an unverified person on camera. The site can take action by how they see fit. And maybe this asshole learns there are consequences for his abusive behavior.

Just because it happens a lot doesn't mean you have to tolerate it.

Its true but i see with different eyes becouse im living here . in Romania for example lots abused womans and kids and noone do nothing, they dont even have place to take them to put them safe , maybe in usa is different . Also, in romania more then half of independ models are working not legal, not paying taxes, if for example shes romanian and site sending police home to check , sending her documents, she might end up in jail also for 2. to 8 years for not paying taxes and they having proves shes camming , so she wont have only a slap from bf she will be in way more troubles .The asshole might pay a ticket or not even , but she might suffer even more , we dont know exaclty her situation i just hope she wont be in more problems if someone report her , trying to save her just creating more pain.

Maybe next time u take her in pvt to just talk to her ask her what happend and if she is ok? in case she can talk and her page isnt watched ...tell her you been worried , but only if she knows english . if not, someone else might type for her so giving you their answers ..

I have been ruminating about this as well. I have also seen a Russian studio model with bruises and marks on her face and neck that caused immediate concern. She said it was accidents and that she was ok and I could only express sympathy and hope she was telling the truth. It’s hard because although I think this model does have autonomy and some understanding of English language, she communicates primarily via chat and I am painfully aware that these studios do use monitors and interpreters who could be presenting themselves as the girl in chat. I have never actually seen any violence on camera and again I believe the girl does seem to have enough control over the situation where it isn’t the same as the OPs scenario but I have heard scary stories about Russian cam studios and am at a loss of what to do. the model has a consistent and reasonable schedule and has never shown that she is distressed or unhappy on stream. I have not seen anything on stream that indicated the model was doing anything against her will. In fact, other than the odd marks I’ve noticed a couple of times, all seems well. Maybe I overthink it, but I have no way to know for sure.

I've decided to just let this go. I know that may not be a popular decision to some here, but I had never seen this model before this and I do not plan on going back after witnessing what I did. I'm certain that I would react differently if I had built any type of bond with this woman, but after careful consideration, letting it go seems to be the best option. My sincerest apologies to those who feel differently.

This is a REALLY complicated issue - the kind of issue that should be discussed, but nobody can because it's viewed in extremes ("we need to shut down porn sites to stop this!" tier stuff).

Bystander effect is real. OP is affected by what he saw but doesn't what the right way to help is. How long has this been going on? Will any attempts to help make her life worse? If she's reported and banned, will losing a source of income make her stuck with this scumbag?
Corruption in law is also real - if this is trafficking, is her country's government going to care? Will something bad happen to her if her abuser (or possible trafficker) found out police were called?
Learned helplessness is also real. If help arrives, will she take it and stay away from him? Will she be safe?
I have personally heard my neighbour be repeatedly beaten in my old apartment, and no matter how many times I'd call the police per year, she would keep letting him back in. This kind of thing happens both irl and online, and it's a deeply, deeply complicated, individual issue with no one-size-fits-all solution.

@AudriTwo is absolutely right that everyone on the site is at risk with something like this, and it frustrates me to no end, because how do we help those that need the help?
No amount of ticking boxes to agree that we're consenting to being on these sites will help real victims. No amount of punishing the 99% of site users for the 1% of victims will stop there being victims in the first place. And we can't even do those victims justice by talking about it without bad actors seeking to twisting it to fit their narrative.

I don't have an answer for you @Lucid1. I hate to say it, but reporting the account seems like the only option here.. but it feels far from the right one. What a shitty situation.

You see, just seeing bruises on a woman (or man) can be very deceiving.
I had a similar thing, also with a Russian woman but I understood where hers came from and I am confident nothing terrible like abuse.
She does all kinds of sports and she walks on those huge stilts in festivals and stuff, she is also into extreme BDSM (going to proper places, on stages, etc) and there are many other things she does that can cause significant and many bruises if she falls, etc.

I know our first thought is always the worst (man hitting woman)

Unfortunately for the OP, it really is difficult. Of course has mentioned with sites etc getting in trouble but also what happens now to that woman who has been banned and can't earn money? Is her partner (or whoever it is) going to be kinder to her or do we all think he is probably going to beat the shit out of her more? God knows what else could happen.

Not a model. Personally, had I witnessed such a thing, I would have reported the account. I have noticed that you haven't mentioned the site where this happend.
Her being in an abusive relationship is not your problem, it's her problem, but an act of such violence being broadcasted on a site becomes a site problem.
Even if the site lawyers had found their law degree by chance in a bag of chips could tell the site so.

Not to mention that this could also jeopardize the site itself and other models' income, as others have pointed out. Just my 2 cents.

If it's Chaturbate, I'm pretty sure they record everything that happens on the site.
