These guys tried to scam one of our cam models. Then they harassed her for the content which they claimed they paid. The aryny1 guy also threatened to report her. It never showed up in her balance and upon investigation with Stripchat, they created fake screenshots of tips.Screenshot 2025-02-02 at 8.50.12 AM.png

@Stella_SC If stripchat investigates something like this, is the user then permanently banned from the platform?

ETA: This should probably go into the ideas thread but, the op is context for it. It might be a good idea for when a member types the word "tipped" have a system message insert into the chat that tells the model "this is not a tip"

One name is familiar to me. They can try it, just click on their name and you will immediately see if they have ever given any tips. That way they can fool new models who are starting to broadcast for the first time and let themselves be drawn into their fabrications and threats.

They are grays how is the focus on how to check if they have tipped, they are grays, and what does the OP mean "These guys tried to scam one of our cam models."

You're a studio that doesn't even teach models what grays are?
LOL hell no they don't teach the models a fucking thing. Most studios on SC do not even show models how to complete their profile. The studios just take the models money or fire them when they do not make target without any help. The most amazing part is most of these so called "studios" are run by females.

These guys are dirt, but lets be honest, it's a whole cam world (not just Stripchat) of guys trying to get stuff for free. I'm not really sure what the fuck has gone on here but if these are new models then the studio (whether that is you, I don't know) should really be educating them in the basics. Grey users claiming to have tipped, fake tip messages in private chat, even PMing the grey in the first place.

If the "studio" is taking money from these model and not providing even the most basic of training then I'd argue that the studio is scamming these models every bit as much as these members are. Arguably the studio is worse. These guys are just opportunist pricks. The studio are supposed to be the professionals here.

A clusterfuck all round.

I'm so ignorant with stripchat....how is the grey PMing the model?

There are 3 ways these greys can do it, but you can always tell which way they have done it:

1) The regular nonsense "PM me bb for private", or whatever other BS they wish to say to try to get a a free PM to spam/scam.
2) They "innocently" ask new models "add me to your friends" and those new models are unaware of the possible repercussions and the fact once someone is on your friends, they can PM you for free, 24/7 until you ban them.

3) The less common way, but it definitely does happen: guys verify their account and become a "model". They can they go around to models and add the model to friends FIRST, they don't need the model to send them a friend request (in my opinion it is ridiculous how guys can go and do this to harass models while they work). Then this opens up for both the spam PMs, scamming, and the "watch me bb" nonsense. You can always tell the difference between 1+2 & 3, because #3 will ALWAYS have the rank 1 next to their name. The number for their rank never increases (regular grey users will slowly increase from 1-9 (9 being maximum for a grey - 10 becomes bronze when you first buy tokens)

But that doesn't work on users? Like a verified model can't do that to a user?

Hello @Ashleyluxe

Yes, these users were trying to scam the model unfortunately. In cases like this, the users should be reported immediately to our Support team so that they can be banned. In order to report a user, you can hover over their username and then select the report button.

Please keep in mind that all of these users are GREY in color. This means that they have registered an account, but they have not bought tokens. A grey user cannot tip a model. I suggest all models ensure that users have actually tipped for things before performing any action for that user. You can see if a user has tipped because your token amount in the top right corner will increase, the tip and who it is from will show up on the earnings page, also hovering over a user's name will show how many tokens that user has given you.

Please also note that all of these users commented in PM. If a user actually tips in PM, a tokens icon appears next to their tip, and the tip will also show up in the models earnings page.

Another one to watch out for (I wasn’t online but reported by the model)

‘TheRealTrevorJackson’ (not the real Maxi)

ETA - I’m not sure which ToS this scheme would have breached, but it was swiftly nipped in the bud.
