Using private messages on Chaturbate question

Heres my situation, I'm posting actual question at the bottom if u wanna skip.Hey everyone, i tried searching for my question and there were similar topics but I couldn't find the answer I was looking for so I apologize if I missed it and this is a duplicate posting.

I have some experience as a cam girl but am fairly new to chaturbate,I made almost $400 this week camming few hour sessions maybe every other day on average but sometimes ill do a lot in one day if I have the time so id say I'm doing OK for a newbie?..maybe averaging like 25-50 an hour depending.

At first I was private messaging pretty much everyone and anyone for free which can get tedious when I'm trying to keep up with ten different convos and getting impatient question marks if I don't respond quick enough. Then yesterday a guy came in who was alarmed that I was responding to almost every PM request for free. And it made me think, yea I should probably charge for PMs since they are becoming difficult to keep up with and its time and energy taken out of the main rooms so I put PMs on my tip menu for 4 tokens.

Some members cooperate no problem, but others got upset and if I didn't respond to their message they said I was ignoring them even tho I was talking to them in the main chat. Its first time I've had guys kind of gang up on me saying I was doing something wrong and getting rude.

QUESTION-

Am I too new to be charging for PMs? How do u guys handle PMs on chaturbate? How do you react when customers get upset when u don't respond to a PM ? I know I can do whatever I would like but I am trying to be somewhat strategic while I court my followers! I don't want to alienate anyone but I also don't want to be a sucker.

Depending on how rude about it they are, anywhere from politely suggesting that they tip to banning them.

part of my dilemma is when its someone who HAS tokens but is ignoring the fact that I have PM on my tip menu and then they go back to free chat kind of demanding I look, and honestly sometimes I do free PM s and it leads to something worthwhile like a PVT or requests they tip for idk

How do u phrase it when you ask for tokens? I want to politely and flirtyy remind them but not scare them away or seem money hungry. I genuinely enjoy webcamming but obviously I need to hustle too!

Any time someone asks for something, my standard response is "I will gladly ____, for (tip amount)".

a guy asks for a PM you simply state what a PM is on your tip menu. End of and no exceptions. He won't be scared away because 1,000s of models have already told him the exact same thing (only the cost of a PM varies)

And if you do give free PMs folks will think you are cheap and have less inclination to tip. Oh and guys that tip for a PM and see you give it away for free could get pissed off.

for my part i didn't ask tip for pm, i know i can earn enough elseway .. i choose when i have time, if i have time and if i want pm ... if a guy enter and ask me to pm him without introduce or say hi, i didn't pm, i ignore ... i want polite funny people in my room, i choose who i speak with. And .. i ignore when some complain, i no have time to deal with that i'm not a babysitter or psy :-D. If some are not happy with my attitude toward pm, just go in another room he no deserve my attention. Yes ok, maybe i loose some tip or big tipper but anyway i want good ambiance in my room and i want have fun and funny people and feel good. I think that if you are always in a good mood and smile you will earn more tok than ask 4tok for pm ... but it's my opinion.

But i didnt say it's not a good idea to ask tip for pm if you do it just say it correctly quickly : " (username), according to my bio, it's 4tok for pm baby :wink "

I wouldn't be concerned about seeming money hungry. Like you said, you need to hustle!
That and if you don't charge for PMs, you will be inundated with requests. And then you'll have a hard time giving them adequate attention.

What I've done:
- PM is in my tip menu
- My bio states "I will only PM with fan club members or those who have tipped at least x tokens. This is because I like to give my attention to the public chat!"
- My mods remind people that PMs are x tokens

If someone tips for a PM, I'll give it to them, but if they're being demanding or an asshole, I don't feel obligated to continue to reply to them. Maybe that is frowned upon, but I don't think that tipping a rather low amount gives you special privileges to make me uncomfortable.
