Hello, I looked for a thread on this and couldn't see one, maybe we could share our thoughts (i.e fears and concerns) here?

There's a section of the Digital Economy Act 2017 coming into place in the UK in July, making all visitors to websites with more than thirty percent pornographic content will have to verify their age.
Ways of verifying include AgeID by MindGeek (lol), going to a local off-licence and buying a pass (lol) or skipping those and just using a VPN.

is it true that MFC flags accounts with tokens bought using a VPN?

I’m worried about this too! I hope someone has some answers for us. I don’t stream in the UK yet but I’m planning to.

I once accidentally bought tokens while still connected to a VPN that went to a different country and my account did get flagged! It was only $20 worth, and my member account was a few months old at that point.


To my understanding, any major porn sites will have access restricted in the UK unless the content can only be viewed after someone has been verified, so yea, I am really wondering how major sites like MFC and CB are going to deal with this. Granted my experiences on MFC are only anecdotal, but a huge chunk of my best tippers were from the UK. Will MFC comply with the new law so that UK visitors can still access the site? Will they no longer allow anyone to view anything unless it's with a verified account? Will they go in the direction of not allowing explicit content in public chat and instead only allow it in club/group/private?

Its not going through its been put aside for another 6 months due to some legal stuff.
