What would you say some of the best hashtags are for promoting yourself?

One thing I read was you want to use 2-3 hashtags max... some I use are live, cam girl, big tits, bbw, porn, I try to use the daily topics too

The recent rash of follow/retweet giveaways is really annoying. I like my timeline full of titties and funny shit, not blatant follower-grabs baited with crap they hauled out of a closet. Yes there are a few good ones out there, but there is a ton of garbage. It also seems real silly to try and lure a following with free shit. I want a following that pays me, not one that expects gift baskets.

I finally switched my twitter from a name that wasn't the same to busymantm, which I use everywhere else. I didn't want to lose the 2k followers and lists I'm on. It turns out you can actually change the name (and everything adjusts automatically). The trick is you want to retain the old name on a different account so you can see who might be still referring.

I'll write up my checklist and post if others need to switch their name but don't want to start over.

I’m complete Twitter noob and I can’t figure out is it safe to use Twitter app on personal phone. I searched old threads and it seems it used to be safe but I can’t find anything recent. So how safe is my cam persona if I make sure I don’t check anything that would upload my contacts to Twitter or similar?

You do have to go into your settings and turn off your discoverability for your email and/or phone number and/or location settings. But then there are no issues.

It’s not like Instagram where if you’ve ever signed into your IRL social media it will grab and share info with your IRL friends about your SW account.

I’m less interested in sending following requests for locked accounts- i’d prefer to see the content I am “subscribing” to before I click follow. The best way to get traffic on Twitter is to advertise on Twitter, I don’t get a Ton of crossover between my cam sites & my social media, not all members use them.

I've used tips I got from Erin Carol as well and it has helped my twitter game for sure. I also put ONE link in my bio from getsl.ink and I put all my links into it. It counts how many times someone has went to each link so you can see what your twitter base is more drawn too from you....

engage in other threads as this will help aid in building up your network with other sex workers (and also potential buyers!)

tweet often for more engagement; post photos and teaser gifs (and/or clips) on a daily basis. it helps to have an upbeat caption, but this is optional. if you're promoting something, then definitely add a link to your main sites.

if you're going to use hashtags, stick to two as more than two will throw up twitter's algorithm as it considers a wall of hashtags as spam.

I am worried by putting too much out there on social media type things that it will be easier for followers or people to find out the personal details that we don't share - such as real name, location, etc. Is this something to be concerned about?

I'm Carmelo, I'm new to cam modeling. Before chaturbate I rarely used social media so the whole thing is definitely a learning curve. Haha I feel like an old person trying to use a cell phone . It's a bit rough but this thread is really helpful in learning the proper way to use social media for promoting

This is super helpful! If you have an iphone, when you're using the crop feature in Photos, another option will appear in the bottom righthand corner w different sized rectangles, and it can automatically size your photo to 16x9 for you so that it is the perfect size to show everything when you post to twitter, as well!

No worries! When I discovered that recently, it changed the game for me! I've never really been good at/confident about having a social media presence, but that definitely makes throwing a pic into the Twitterverse a lot easier! lol

I kind of feel like that is something that like internet personalities have to be worried about, in general. I don't necessarily think you're more likely to get doxxed for being on Twitter than MFC, for example, but it is hard to tell, you know?
I will say that social media is kind of becoming a burden though because of all the restrictions against sex work that seems to be ever-changing.

This is so helpful!! My problem with showing my personality on Twitter is that all my interests are pretty weird and obscure, so if I mention the things I'm into it makes it easier to ID me in real life (I wear a disguise and geoblock my location because of my religious family). So when I try to Tweet things that show my personality I feel like I always end up with "So uh.....do you guys like...........sex????"
