I am a few months in on being a cam model and i have experienced 2 situations that I am just not sure if its a good idea or not (probably not a good idea). My third time online a viewer asked if the could be my moderator for like 6-months, i said “sure!”. I made him my mod and he suggested i get snapchat so i did. I literally knew nothing about snapchat and still dont fully know how it works. I started receiving nude picks and was asked to send nudes in return and i did. I later learned that nudity is not allowed on snap. Basically he wanted all of my attention on and offline and then he inquired about me giving him 50 tks/hr. I banned him.
Second situation a viewer was asking me to do things i have never done before and i have an open mind so i gave it a shot and i made a lot more tokens in that session from other tippers. The viewer inquired about skyp and again im like “sure” he said he represtented a group of over 400+members that tip well for the best submissive models. Since i learned so much i figured as long as im learning new stuff i dont care about compensation. The first time i was told if i “pass” 5 tests i would get into the group, then in skype it turned into “5-levels”. Lol i feel kinda stupid, but i have learned a lot. I have had 3 skypes.
Basically has anyone experienced this situation? I had fun and i want to learn more, but its not financially feesable or fair to the viewers that actually tip me. Any advice?
First of all... I want to reassure you that following your instincts is never a bad idea. If you're wondering whether something is a good idea or not... Chances are, that's your instincts telling you it isn't. And that's a sense that you should definitely honor, and try to sharpen. Because you're going to get a TON of people trying to take advantage of you or put you in silly situations, and they can seem so charismatic while doing so. But your instincts are so valuable, and I've learned to listen to mine.
For the first situation... It sounds like you wisened up very quickly. People should always pay for your nudes AND your attention, because your time is money. Giving away attention for free is actually taking away time you could be spending on paying customers - so don't feel bad about banning him. DEFINITELY don't pay members, especially ones that are actively preventing you from making money and trying to take advantage of you. Because asking for nudes/time/attention for free is taking advantage, and it is a common tactic to try on newer models who are still trusting of most members.
Second situation... "I don't care about compensation." You should care about compensation, and it's okay to care about it, and expect it. This is your job now, and just because you are still learning the ropes, it doesn't mean you don't deserve to get paid. This member is getting free attention. and has a professional model bending over to complete the tasks he is dreaming up. I PROMISE, he is definitely getting off in all sorts of ways, making you jump through hoops. If this group does exist (and that's a big IF), I'm sure the other people within are getting off too, knowing how many hoops you are trying to jump through in order to join their "elite" club. It's BS, all of it. You may be learning, but you are still fulfilling this person's exact fantasies. You might even be fulfilling the fantasies of dozens, even hundreds of others. He is getting off on you, and therefore, you deserve to be compensated. Again, I feel like this dude is trying to take advantage of you.
A good rule of thumb to follow is, "Is this person getting his fantasies fulfilled right now? Am I personally taking the one-on-one time to turn him on, whether it's via assignments/nudity/personal attention?" If the answer is yes, then you deserve to be paid for your work. Heck, I'd argue that ANY personal attention should be paid for, but then, I come from a Femdom background, so I might be a little biased with my expectations. But I believe that those who are worthy of your time and attention already know that you are worth paying. And they will show it with their actions.
But seriously, there are SO SO SO many vulture-dudes out there, who keep a predatory eye out for newer models, trying to take advantage of their trusting natures. And I think that actually goes double for the submissive-models. They see that natural desire to please that many submissives have, and those predatory dudes try to use that to get what they want for free. You genuinely wish to learn, to grow as a model. You want to please your clients. But that doesn't mean you deserve to be taken advantage of. You deserve to be paid for your time. You deserve to be paid for your nudes. You deserve to be paid for any assignments/tasks you are given. And unfortunately, you are going to have to learn to demand it. Because there are so many people who won't want to pay what you are worth, who try to talk you down, try to haggle, try to make you feel guilty for wanting to be compensated. You've got to learn that it is okay to stand up for yourself and it's okay to ask for what you deserve - otherwise, you're going to get taken advantage of over and over and over again.
I highly advise against relying on members to educate you in ANY aspect of this business, unless they have their own legit webcam experience to back it up. Because 99.99 percent of the time, their "education" involves them getting free wank-material/free attention, and more likely than not, will just give you the wrong advice anyways. Models are a much better resource to learn from! If you want to learn, feel free to ask questions in these forums. There are SO MANY models who don't mind giving advice, helping answer any questions you might have - and for free, too. Models who won't be getting off on your newness, who won't try to take advantage of your trust, models who genuinely want to see you succeed for your own sake.
