Hey guys! I'm still pretty new here but tried searching for this topic and couldn't find anything.
I have a question about when a tipper hides their tip from the chat room. How do you normally react? and guys, how would you like us to? It always throws me off. I'm not sure why its hidden. Normally i have my topic set to Tip for a tease. So i have been teasing when i get a tip, regardless of it its shown in the room or not since the noise still goes off. i also still say thank you "so-and-so" for the tip. Should i not do these things if its a hidden tip? Or if i should, whats the point of it being hidden if there's not tip note or anything?? I thought maybe it was a setting some members just leave on, but i have a few regulars who switch between hidden and not hidden within one span of time i'm online. If anyone has any ideas on this or wants to share what they do, i'd really appreciate it!!

Some guys are shy about dropping big tips and the whole room knowing. If they opt to make the tip private (but not anonymous) I wouldn't announce their name to the room.

Most girls say "thank you ninja" but I just say "thank you!"

Ninja tips typically arent intended for the countdown or flashes or whatever, just tokens of appreciation (double entendre wut wut!)

I'd ask the tipper in PM if he wants it to count towards the countdown or for teases

If it is hidden or anonymous, I say, "Thank you anonymous!"

Some members hide their tip from the room and then become upset when they are not publicly recognized. This has happened to me a few times before. When a member says, "why are you calling me anonymous?" I just explain to them that the majority of the time, when people hide their tips, they do not want to be named.

Don't over-think it too much. There are a lot of reasons for members to hide their tips. Start calling all hidden tips "Ninja" or "Anonymous" and if one member objects, remember to use his name. Like Lucy says, if you are confused as to what at tip is for, asking them in PM is the best way to figure it out.

I used to tip publicly, and all the freeloaders would clap for me. I never liked those people thinking I was doing it for them. When I am visiting a strange model, I try to remember to include a tip note.

Haha I like your use of strage. Pretty sure you mean it like "get some strange" but I read it at first like "when I tip some oddball model..." :-D

The other night when I was on MFC, I got a couple of tips that showed up in the room, but, for some reason, it wasn't showing me who gave the tips. I'm not talking about anonymous tips. Other guys in the room even told me the name of the person who had just tipped. It was very strange, and I'm pretty sure that was the same night I suddenly got logged out of my public chat...smh.

I think I can explain this.

When a person is not in the room and tips us, it shows up as "anonymous" to us, but the room still sees the name. Lately, there seems to be some sort of bug in certain tips, and "anonymous" tips are showing up as "Received a 20 token tip!" with no name at all on it (not even "anonymous".) So with the wacky bug going on with anonymous tips lately, that may have been why yours were showing up this way.

I've already reported my findings to an Admin.

I did a lot of ninja or anonymous tipping and usually included a tip note so there would be no confusion. Just a random hidden tip, I think a generic "thank you ninja" or "thank you anonymous" is sufficient. But never call out the member's name after a hidden tip. Probably most times it was hidden for a reason. In the cases where it was not, well, you'll just have to deal with it on a case by case basis. It could have been accidental, but always assume it was on purpose.

Re-read your post. As far as I know it's not something that can be set, it has to be clicked each time, which is why I said to always assume it's on purpose. Of course, there can be occasions where it was accidental, but since it has to be clicked, safer to assume it was on purpose.
