The Evil Within

New horror game coming out in October on pretty much everything.

While investigating the scene of a gruesome mass murder, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners encounter a mysterious and powerful force. After seeing the slaughter of fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finds himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead.

Facing unimaginable terror, and fighting for survival, Sebastian embarks on a frightening journey to unravel what’s behind this evil force.

Basically Resident Evil inside what looks to be a sanitarium. I'm excited for it. Here's an equally awesome reaction trailer for it.

That video kind of... made me not really care anymore? It looks a lot like RE4, really, and... Yeah. I guess I was led to believe it would be different? and actually scary, rather than cheap scares... It kind of looks like your standard fare, really. I dunno, after watching a walkthrough of the PT for Silent Hills, which was actually creepy as fuck, I was expecting more.

Yeah, given all the hype this week from BethSoft, I was hoping to get more than the standard gore and jump scares, hi-def or not.

Gonna buy this - watched a stream on twitch and the gameplay looks a lot like The Last of Us mixed with some interesting concepts - and pre order Far Cry 4. Doing that I will be eligible to get $15 back from the PS store.

I've heard lots of negative stuff, but I plan to at least still rent it. If I would have let people talk me out of trying every game that peeked my interest, I'd have a MUCH smaller collection of favorite games. :lol:

I know it's late but did you end up picking up the game ? It's definitely worth playing, only thing is it majorly lacks a storyline where they could've put a pretty damn good one in it. I'm still happy with it , but I play every horror related game .

I was really disappointed by it. I kinda gave up halfway through. Graphically, it's fairly unimpressive, the gameplay is very clunky, the story is neither well told nor particularly engaging. I might trade it in tomorrow actually. It's been sat there for so long that I actually forgot I had it.

I played Resident Evil HD a few months after Evil Within, and despite being 12 years older, it's just superior in every aspect.

It's definitely not a great game but worth a try and than yes probably going to trade mine in as we'll. dead space was much creepier and has a storyline

This. We rented it, standard procedure before buying a game, and it really didn't seem worth it. When it goes on sale, sure I'll pick it up and try to power through but for now I shall pass.
