So, after reading this, most of the people I know said: there's no way it's not intended for sex work.

The big question being: will anyone here be interested in using this?
I am interested in both the point of view of models who have already a business model for it (via MFC tokens, giftcards and so on) and the point of view of potential customers (would you trust this system? are you afraid of being scammed?)

Also, do you think it will create a new market of young women (and men) getting into "soft sex work" because it will be very easy? Will it create so much offer that the market prices will slump?

It is not for sex work. The money is processed through Square. Square is anti-sexwork.
So yeah...Wish it was for sex work though. It would be nice.
Edit:
IF YOU ARE A SEX WORKER DO NOT USE SNAPCASH!

I can see a lot of models (and members) being all for it (another way to receive money, hassle-free, tax free(?), and nobody to take a 50% cut of that money (although I assume there'll be a charge of some sort to use the service)(holy parentheses, Batman!)). I'm not so sure it's a great idea though. At least when tipping on MFC, there's a safety net for member and model alike. Any disputes can be sorted (in theory). With Snapcash, there'd be no recourse for anybody who's being ripped off.

It might also lead to models preferring Snapcash as a payment method, which will be a detriment to both MFC and the model's camscore-indebted placement on MFC, which will hurt them in the long-run. There'd also no doubt be privacy issues involved (real names, contact details, maybe even bank details potentially being revealed).

Finally (potentially unpopular opinion incoming, yo) I could see it giving rise to some models taking advantage of the generosity of their members. "Buy me these shoes from my wishlist and I'll love you forever" could easily give way to "I'm hungry, can someone Snapcash me $10 so I can eat" or "Out shopping and just saw the most perfect dress... if only I had another $50". And of course the members most likely to send that money are the ones most likely to be already spending more than they can afford to on that model.

Not that every model who would use it is taking advantage of her members, and not that every member who would send money is being taken advantage of course... it's just something I could see happening :twocents-02cents:

I don't think this will be handy for random pervs tipping random models. But there are cases where there's more history and trust, and since it appears
way more convenient than using WU or Moneygram, I'm sure that it will be used.

Also, cheesy video here:

LOL, but would you pay money for the button? Snapcash seems like smart way for them to make money

Just did a test run with this! Sent money to my roommate; no real names came up, you do need enter a number but you can use a burn number (text now or similar) and there is no fee.

Pretty sweet! As long as you don't do anything stupid with it square will likely never be able to identify it as being used by a sex worker either. (Meaning don't call or contact support with stupid questions, abuse it or be dumb enough to fall for scammers).

What if the sender tells them though, is it like paypal where the model just loses out and has her account frozen?

It's possible that the sender could lose sending privileges. It also depends on whether Square holds that money or transfers it immediately to the recipient's registered account, which is what seems to happen.

Not sure yet. The money did transfer immediately though.

Like I said, it shouldn't be much of an issue as long as people use it intelligently. Don't accept SnapCash from someone who isn't a trusted regular.

Steph, when you check your bank account online (and when she checks hers), what do they say in the "Where this shit is going" field? Just Snapcash? Or maybe the fake number? Or ... I dunno.

It says SQC - SNAP 'SnapChat name'. So if you sent it it'll show in your account as the SnapChat name of the receiver or if you received it it will show the SnapChat name of whoever initiated it.

Personally, this would be my preferred method for paying for things like snapchat, and maybe even Skype if it proves bullet proof enough.

I suggested in a e-mail twice that 0.99 to 9.99 for the PRO snapchat app or something like that i would pay with a huge smile on my face. No answer back :(

Most appas have the light version with ads, and them the PRO with extra features, that would be very nice if there was a snapchat pro, with, idk, Groups, Select All, extra filters and fonts. These things takes few code lines to add, and i bet they would sell it easy.

I pay for echofon PRO because i can add more than one twitter account, it was 9.99 and it's pretty neat, there are extra features but i only use because of that.

I'm with you it is very strange that they haven't added those features, even if only as premium version. The new mom wanted to share baby snaps with family members seems like the perfect use of groups and of course camgirls. Still I have spent a lot of time listening to app developers making a pitch for investors money. A couple of things have stood out App developers get a lot of feedback from users,so I am 100% sure that Snapchat has gotten the feedback many many times about select all, groups etc. I personally think company should send a form letter out thanking people for their feedback, just as matter of courtesy, but I'm old school. Secondly, they generally have well thought out reasons for not including specific features, I don't always believe their reason are correct, but its their business not mine.
