Ok so, I have been hoping a thread about the new share.myfreecams.com would start because I feel like I just don't quite understand how it works. So I'll just go ahead and start the thread in all my ignorance!

I was pretty stoked when this popped up thinking it would be an in house clip/file sharing site and that may still be the case, but it appears to just be either public for all to see or private for VIP members? No way to use it to sell individual videos? Am I right? Wrong?

I tried it, it was a fail. The follow function wasn't working, so I couldn't use the share feature.

Well it looks kind of like twitter or tumblr.

Models can share videos or photos.

Fans can like and fallow. Any one your fallowing shows up in a feed. Much like the twitter homepage. Fans can also share your posts to twitter or reddit.

If your camming, and some one visits 'share', There a little box that pops up telling them your online. and they can jump right to your MFC room.

Share does not seem to have region blocking. But nether does twitter.

I guess this could be useful for promoting yourself socially.

At the very least, it might create better ranking for MFC. Sense it's another site promting and cross linking to MFC.

• Limit of 1GB per file.
• Limit of 30 minutes per video
• albums Public or Unlisted.
• Albums may be password-protected.

So you could in thoery upload a 30 minute videos. Unlisted so people can only get to it with a link you gave them.

Or just password protect it, and sell the password.

FYI it seems like some models are using it to sell content.

IE:
user fallow covfefe_
covfefe_ publishes a new video advertisment for token purchase content.
covfefe_ album shows up in user's feed


Also content can be VIP locked. So I guess you could sell subscriptions?

I know a couple of models are using it to share previews of videos, as well as sharing the link for video purchases. So far, I like it as a member.

I like the way it shows up in twitter. The ability to flip through the album inside the twitter feed is something I don't often encounter.

Value? No idea.

Bumping this thread because I was looking for it and couldn't find it.

Does anyone have experience with buying/selling albums with tokens? Do tips for albums show up in the model's chatroom if she's online? I'm trying to figure out if I should replace my link system on my profile with this, but I let video sales go towards the countdown.

The few that I had purchased prior to the share, it was a message to the model as it was offline, IIRC. Then, the one I did get, the model was online when I tipped her for it as it was in the room subject.

Unfortunately, don't have a lot of experience with vid/pic purchases.

I've been helping a model friend play with this. I just started so I've not gotten to far yet but it seems very promising if you want to sell photos and videos and not have to deal with another site like ManyVids.

You can offer content for sale via 3 methods :
1 - Tokens - set the tokens to whatever you want. The member can then purchase it with no interaction from you. Maybe the model is offline. Maybe it's during a show but now you don't need to stop and send a link. You get some message of the sale, and it looks different then a normal "tip" but I do not know if it appears in the room at all. I suspect it does not but I've not tested yet.
2 - Password - You can sell a password for the content. So if you do want to promote this and use it in a show for countdowns then sell the password to the member. You or a room helper would then need to message the member obviously.
3 - VIP List. You can setup a VIP list in the share site. Then in each protected Album you can set if the VIP list can get to it. This would allow you to make all your content (that you set this way) as available if you wanted to sell an "all inclusive" package.

And the neat thing is that you can use all 3 of these things at the same time. For each album. It's not an "and"... it's an "Or". (in programming terms).

I don't know anything about the follow business, or twitter yet, but just to have a place to protect and sell content... and deal with the same company and tokens that you're used to. That seems very convenient to me and my model friend is excited to get setup with it.

Maybe there are some cons I don't know about yet. As I said I just started playing with it.
