screen resolution question

HI I am helping a model friend who is too shy to come on here. She left her studio and is streaming on her own, using her friends laptop and camera. She has her obs and CB account. When she streams there are big black bars on the side. I guess you call that an aspect-ratio issue. I told her to right click the desktop, go to display settings, then display resolution and choose 1920 x 1080. She says she did that and it does not fix it.

Any other ideas? Is there something you do in the obs itself maybe?

p.s. she also has the setting for 1920x1080 in her obs.

There are 3 resolution settings in obs, the 2 in the settings > video and the 3rd in the video source properties. More than likely it's the settings > video section, make sure they are both set to the 1920x1080.


Edit: I forgot, once set click the actual video in obs and push Ctrl+F to fit it to screen
