Quick Stripchat question

I have two Stripchat accounts as a member with different usernames (not intentional, I realised by trial and error last night). At some point, I've obviously paid for tokens with the same payment method in both because it's now offering me up my "recently viewed" models from one account in the other account. Is that normal?

By the same token, if I go Ultimate, I assume the privileges don't carry across both accounts, so why does the preferences and the visited models?

I’ve found the ‘previously viewed’ isn’t account specific… it’s device specific…

I can view models offline and they still show when I login. It must be a cookie setting downloaded to your laptop/mobile.

That was the other possibility I considered, however I accessed it in a browser which I've never visited SC in before and it still did the same.

Where is this recently viewed list?

I see "favourites" and "watch history" and also "recommended" but none of these cross over except when they should.

ETA, I notice that "Watch History" is identical. I guess it is based on IP address maybe.

Correct. They are two different accounts.

Recently Viewed = Watchlist - I think just a terminology thing.

If it’s not account specific it must be device specific 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yes I just edited my post :shy:

I checked and the Watch History is identical. IP address maybe?

ETA and I notice that when viewing the watch history, the title of the page/frame actually changes to "Recently viewed cams | XXX Chat"

Okay… now I’m doubting myself 😂

I have two accounts and the Watch history is different and specific to the account.

@misterical has opened a can of worms here!

ETA: one is a StripChat account and the other is XHamsterLive… which would make sense from a website cookie perspective so I stand by my device-specific theory 💪🏼

Sorry, the exact terminology is "Models you've enjoyed" and it's definitely showing models in account 2 who I have only visited with account 1.

The question really comes from a web developer perspective in the sense that it should never happen. It also opens members up to compromising situations. Some members will operate multiple accounts for various reasons. In a moment of confusion, you could theoretically enter a room with the wrong account without realising.

Yeah, that’s true. But if the model doesn’t recognise the account then they won’t know that it’s you?

I’d put it as a suggestion in the SC suggestion thread 💪🏼💪🏼

I can see the curiosity in a web dev perspective, but I do believe it comes out to "How do SC connect users to other accounts" because they have a way of doing this, so I'm not sure they would answer this.. my guess would be a mix of IP and any payment details that matches on several accounts?

Yeah, I assume they do it to stop abusive members from creating new accounts repeatedly.

yea or keep track of the referral system ;)

I had no clue it was across websites either and tried signing up to SC on a referral link (as I use an affiliated website normally) as I rather would want to use that site as it's darkmode anyways :p but alas, it did not work, which is also smart! (it was just not stated in the rules that it also counted for affiliate sites)

I think there's many reasons they might want to keep track of all these things, and maybe they also see this as features, that even across your accounts, it will keep to your liking of what's at top etc... (because maybe it's also though of as, why would your preferences change, just because your account does)

it could be, but then I misunderstood a previous post, because I thought it was said it would jump between browsers.. can just try dig into the cookies honestly :p

Hey guys

Couple of things..

Same payment method linked to different accounts comment - definitely not.

We also do not have a "recently viewed" models section or "models you've enjoyed" section for users

We do have Match Your Latest Picks (it’s likely possible the user sees the same models on different accounts)
and Watch History which only shows models that you have watched for a certain time and/or interacted with


@misterical check my PM.
I think I need to clarify a few things and get some information from you in order for me to dig deeper into this.
