Progression ideas?

Hi everybody! I'm Astra

I'm a relatively new camgirl working on MFC, I've only been there about a month, so I'm still finding my feet. I love it so far, and I feel I've settled into my new job nicely and its something I really want to do full time as a long-term job. My only problem is, I feel like I've hit a bit of a wall, and I'd really like to move onto the next steps, but I'm not sure how to do that really.

I have a hanful of regulars that I have built a bit of a rapport with, I am relatively active on social media (but I'll come back to the reasoning for that in a minute), I've got Snapchat which I update daily, I've posted a photo set onto my profile, but that's it really for now.

What comes next? What should I be doing now? I've got a few questions which I think might help me out, but if you guys have anymore tips then they are greatly, greatly appreciated!

In terms of social media, I am as active as I can be, but I only really ever post sexy pictures of myself detailing when I'm going to be online. I noticed that alot of models talk about their personal-ish lives on there, but I don't have a particularly interesting life right now, I don't think so anyway. So what should I be posting?

I was thinking about setting up some different kinds of shows, like themed and special shows, but I'm not entirely sure what to do. If it helps, I'm a goth girl, so I enjoy the dark and spooky and it goes well with my look. Contrary to what I've just said though, I was thinking about doing a pyjama/slumber party themed show, with me in some sexy pyjamas, with maybe a few fresh things thrown in, such as pillow humping, but I haven't gotten much further with my idea than that. See what I mean? A bit of a creative block going on here

I also had the idea of making something of a 'Coven'. Wherein, when you become a friend, you become part of the Coven and the highest tippers are higher up in the Coven and are more powerful and get more perks (which I'm not sure on just yet, might do prizes once a month for the highest tippers too? what do you guys think?).

Ontop of all of this, I have a bit of a problem quite a lot. I find my room is very, very quiet and I've gotten used to bouncing off my viewers a bit too much, and I don't know what to do when nobody is talking, even when I try asking them 'so how are we all' and 'what are we up to' ect. And to make matters worse, I often have an issue with getting people in the room and getting people to *stay* in the room. What can I do there? How can I make my self more desirable to watch? Call me arrogant, but I know that I'm hot ect, but thats everywhere for camgirls. How can I be a better camgirl, and not just a hot girl on the internet? What else can I do to make myself stand out?

What else do you guys think I should be doing? Any tips, ideas or constructive criticisms are greatly appreciated! My apologies for rambling on and this post being so long, but I've really hit a bit of a wall and I'm not sure where to go next with it!

Generally, I think it's good for a model to talk about herself if it's quiet

You can ask the room how is everyone? but then I would go on to tell people how your day was or anything on your mind

Example would be even just something like

How is everyone? I've had a bit of an annoying day, I went to the shop, was sooo cold, I really need to get a new coat, but anyway I went especially for a pack of my favourite biscuits, they didn't even have them :O I asked a dude who worked there if they had any and he said he would look out the back for me, I said cool thank you, but then I was stood there waiting for 10 minutes, nothing.. lol I was thinking damn, what he just forgotten and left me or are they just watching me on cctv out the back seeing how long I will stand here lol

^ Talking about something like that might not be particularly interesting on the face of it, but it gives people the opportunity to ask questions about every aspect along the way and branch off into different conversations

ps I am GobIin on mfc and I have been in your room a number of times and I know your perfectly lovely to talk to

People always tend to underestimate how interesting their life actually is, even when you do have a normal job or live in a normal town etc. What is normal for you is totally unknown for someone in another state/ country/ continent. That tree on your front porch may be normal to you but imagine all the people in the world who do not have a front porch, let alone a beautiful tree to gaze upon.

There is beauty everywhere, there is excitement everywhere.. just realise that there is is another step to take

Actually, I would start with marketing yourself as a sexy gothic chick aka Elvira or Vampira. You will be surprised on how many guys look for alternative chicks. Often, I use music to lighten the mood and then do a tarot card reading. You can totally play up your gothic look but make it sexy. Like dancing to Bauhaus - "Stigmata Martyr" with just fishnet catsuit or something to get the guys attention

Ah Goblin! I literally remember one of my first shows and you being there. Thanks for sticking by me this long! Haha And thats a good idea, thank you. I have tried doing that before, today actually, but still nothing. I had a handful of people in my room but nobody said anything, still. Its so strange! I ended up logging out after an hour because it becomes a bit soul destroying after a while But I'll try to do it more. I get that we all have bad days, but it happens more often than not at the moment :I

Wow thats so inspiring! I guess so, actually... I mean, I'm in the UK, and while my own life might not be that interesting, maybe my surroundings are. I love the woods, maybe I could do a little thing where I went to the woods and talked about it, took pictures there, ect... That could be nice. Taking pictures of my local area ect, without being too revealing of the actual location of course, lol!

I do listen to music while on cam, often its not quite gothic as I have such a wide taste, but thats such a good idea! and I also have a deck of tarot cards, I dabbled with them a few times. maybe i could get back into that again and use them online and do a little reading for tips? So its funny you should say that really. And so you think I should play even more on my goth-ness?

Well, being an goth chick is very unique in this industry. I would play up your gothicness but go more in the Elvira/Vampira/Morticia Addams route. Sure, you could go that whole Siouxsie Sioux in 1980 or Lizbeth Salander route but those "harder" gothic personas can be a tougher sell. You will be selling only to a niche market which would be perfect if you more experience. Even in phone sex, those harder punk or gothic looks are very tough to sell. You want something that is more sexy yet dark.Mainstream men are more willing to take an goth if she is more softer and sexier aka Elvira or Vampira. If you have a razor and dark wit than you can go with a more Morticia Addams persona. Best of luck

Agreeeeeee! I regret having such a hard alternative look when I was a new/struggling camgirl; I don't "look" goth anymore (lol) but I do well as Morticia these days. If you're gonna go hard you have to go really hard!
