Hello. I am both a broadcaster (fledgling) and a purveyor of rooms. I am also a Supporter level user and am very respectful in both public and private conversations.

Last night (Nov 26, 2024 at 2:47 AM EST), a user in a room posted 2 comments in Russian, with a gif of a black woman making an exaggerated face in a movie. The model read the comments aloud and burst out laughing for probably 30 seconds.

Curious, I copy and pasted the lines into google translate and it turned out to be an extremely offensive and racist 'joke'. I commented, mentioning the @UserName, asking why was the racism necessary. No reply, no comment from either of the TWO room mods or the broadcaster.

I reported both of the comments to CB in the users popup dialog and took a screenshot of the offensive comments. After about 20 minutes of the same user continuing to post, I used the Apple 'translate' feature for images and took a screenshot of what the user said in context.

I then posted (to the best of my recollection): "Hey <model name>, I think you're very funny and sweet, but I can't in good conscience follow and support you for laughing at and leaving the racist comments from <username> active in the chat. Good luck to you in the future." I attached the translated screenshot, unfollowed and waited for a response from her or the mods. None came, so I left the room and shortly after went to bed.

Cut to 6 hours or so later. I grab my coffee, sit down and am greeted with the dreaded 'We have reason to believe that you may have violated our terms of service' message. I filled out the Support form asking what happened, then it occurred to me that it may have been posting the translated 'joke' image. I checked the account of the user who posted the original Russian text joke and it too is banned. The model in questions has 428k users, so I do not expect that it will be banned.

So I guess my question is: is this the sort of thing that support will recognize as an unintended offense? I have several thousand tokens in limbo, as well as followers, fan club memberships and more. I was attempting to be a good community member but acknowledge that I could have been more subtle.

Thanks for any and all advice.

Your story is a shining example of following the rules, reporting suspected abuse in good faith and reporting it to support. But despite your efforts, you receive a “punishment” in the form of an account block.

Judging from what is written on the forum, you can expect a response from support for a long time if you are noticed in a violation, even if you did not commit it. Your account already has an offender status, so it usually takes longer. Posting here may indeed speed up the process, but even then recovery may take a long time. Especially if you need to check several accounts manually. I think this is what will happen in your case.

Therefore, you should be patient, the representative's response will mean that you have been noticed. But the outcome is always unpredictable.

Also, judging by the information on the forum, you should not re-send too many letters to support, as this will lower you to the bottom of the queue, and the waiting time may increase.

...you are one of the few people to have their ban reversed, what do you think goes through the mind of the rep that unbanned you if you keep speaking negatively about CB?

And obviously that is not following the rules, no offense to ser_bronn here but obviously you can't repost something like that. He clearly did it without thinking and maybe CB will forgive his mistake but of course it is definitely not following the rules.

...you are one of the few people to have their ban reversed,
Seriously...case after case goes unresolved because CB simply stops responding. She got very lucky that they bothered to hear out her case.

...but speaking negatively of CB is actually against their TOS. It's valid reason for them to suspend or ban you. I'd be careful of what you say @Anitata. At the very least, make a separate account to complain on. They know who you are on this one. 🫤 Not worth the risk.

Yeah, be careful @Anitata .

When that texting site Arousr decided to ban me in 2022...and I'd posted on here (and other places online) to warn people about them...they went and banned me from their Twitter account too. Lol. They were BIG MAD. As if banning me from their Twitter account was gonna silence me.....

It's probably a touch of harassment in the eyes of admins. Report, block, move on.

Why do you think my statement is negative? What did I say that was rude, offensive or defamatory?

Unfortunately, I don't know the site you are talking about. But this is too rude of them. I don't know what laws this site operated under. But it seems to me that freedom of speech is protected in any country. Although I may be wrong about a number of countries. But this is definitely not about the USA, in whose jurisdiction Chaturbate operates.
