Poll: How has Covid-19 affected Camsites?

I haven't been doing any live cam shows for some time now, so I'm somewhat out of the loop. But I am curious to how the "pandemic" has affected the cam modeling industry (if at all).
You don't have to be a cam model to answer this. You can be a cam site member giving your opinion on what you've observed, or speaking about your own personal experience as a member and how it's affected your time/spending habits on cam sites.

As a member, I'd say it's pretty mixed from what I've seen on MFC. Some models I've talked to have said that they're about average, while some up or down. But, I know some who are unable to cam consistently due to have younger children, or others in the home. The times that I'm able to get on (I live alone), I've noticed that some of the members I've recognized/interacted with before are not on. Unsure of it it's due to loss of job, or due to others living with them. I'm sure more people are now accessing from mobile devices if they live with others.

I could be entirely wrong on this. But, it seems like the model count may be a little lower than normal. At the moment (2:00pm PDT), there's about 1425 models online. I think I recall this number being a couple hundred more. So, perhaps there's quite a few who are unable to cam due to others now being home instead of at work or school. Given the pandemic, I half expected a flood of people signing up to be models for some kind of income and it becoming more mainstream. I read somewhere that OnlyFans had a massive surge in content providers over the past few weeks.

Yes, people are home but lots of them also don't have a job or earn way less + having other people in the house.. it's harder to join a show, most are probably just watching.


I've actually felt a drop in my earnings - this might be a great time for free content as in uploading on Pornhub!

Hard to say. I've certain done better on cam and I've averaged around 100-300 viewers the past few weeks, which I hadn't done consistently since November but I've also primarily switched to daytime shows since I can't work at the moment. I've also had some of my followers hold off on taking me private or ordering customs because their income has been affected. I would say it's a net positive, but I could see things going the other direction as more and more people lose their jobs or run through their savings as the situation drags on.

HMMM, yeah that makes sense. This is affecting everyone. I am trying to become a cam girl myself, and gathering as much info as possible, but it is really hard when you don't know anyone else personally that has done it. Feeling a bit alone

For me: Income from regs is decreasing due to lack of privacy and economic issues or uncertainty.

This income is being replaced by returning or infrequent customers who are now working from home, on paid leave, or working longer hours as essential workers with bonus $$$ they are sending me.

I also am seeing an uptick in overall new traffic.

It's hard to say for sure, as COVID just happened to coincide with me going full time as a cam model and pretty much doubling my hours. I quit my dev job at the end of Feb and had a great March. I've been seeing my regs a lot more and had pretty good traffic most days last month.

March was way higher in income from camming and onlyfans. It's been a little slower so far for April but I haven't been able to do my money making shows til tomorrow. Sex industry is usually recession proof. Guys always need to wank, strip clubs are closed, restaurants are closed so there's no way to date new people, social distancing kills all kinds of dates unless you already live with your partner. Probably a bit too early for the economic crisis to hit as hard as it will hit (because it will). What I do experience now, being in a lockdown, is that I find less and less chances to have enough privacy, since my whole family is always at home. So yeah, it's a bit more difficult to have cam sessions.

3. Lock your wife in another room

A bit extreme but, if played right, it can actually work! Pretend the door lock is suddenly broken, or that you wanted to make a prank to her but it got wrong because the lock got broken. Then, all in panic, pretend you call someone to fix the door, and that it will take them 1 hour or more to get there since everything is locked up because of the Corona Virus. The perfect solution for a longer session, although it can’t be repeated more than once I guess. It works best if you can lock her in the kitchen or in any other room where it won’t be too hard for her to spend one hour (hint: a television should be present), that way she won’t shout at you for too long

Onlyfans is doing well, not booming as much as others but def an uptick. Cam is funny, room counts have been VERY low for me despite having a high cam score and it’s so bad it’s starting to really affect my self esteem.
