Hello all, I just recently got an email from paypal saying my account that I use for camming has been deactivated and they can no longer process payments for that account because they somehow found out my account is being used for camming (sexual goods/servces) which is now not allowed I guess? I am not sure why this happened or why paypal has implemented this new rule and am wondering if anyone else has experienced this? It looks like I will need to find a new payment method for people not willing to use tokens as a form of payment but I am now concerned that all money transfer sites/apps will take hold of this new rule and the only way to make money will be through tokens on the sites. I hear a lot of people use cashapp but I am concerned how secure/private that is? If anyone has any suggestions on what to do since paypal is no longer an option for me, feel free to comment below. Thank you!

It's not a new rule, it's been a rule since paypal first started.

The best alternative would be crypto (or maybe something like a throne page). Basically all e-money services (cashapp / vemo etc) are non adult friendly.

I dont deal with out of site payments because frankly it's a pain in the ass, there might be someone with more experience in taking off site payments that can give some other recommendations.

There are lots of alternatives to use, but why do people not want to buy tokens as a payment? I never understand that, especially when you meet the model on a cam site. Even if it's because they are worried about their bank statement, they can buy crypto or other methods on the cam site.

But some good alternatives are places like profee.com or paysend.com as well as revolut
(profee and paysend allow the person to send direct to your card (no name is needed)

Profree does not allow payments for adult content or services
Revolut does not alow payments for adult content or services (also exposes both parties info)
Paysend also does not allow payments for adult entertainment.

ETA: Before using any service for taking payments OP should read the TOS and check for prohibited uses to avoid issues in the future.

Yes, i understand, i was just giving other options. I honestly don't think any other option accepts adult site payments, so they will all be risky, no matter where you go to. The real best solution is to get those guys to send via the camsites.

But if they do not allow payments for adult content they are not options. Using payment services outside of what they allow them to be used for can result in a financial loss. It's bad advice to recommend someone to use services in a way they are not allowed to be used.

Yes, cam sites, clip sites, fanclub sites, thone, wishtender (maybe). Theres a lot of options but the only one I know of that is p2p is crypto (and thats if you own your own wallet and not a 3rd party, 3rd parties like coinbase for example have the same no payments for adult content terms).

Yes its not a new rule, I'm repeatedly asked to use PayPal but won't because I don't want to be banned from the payment platform.

It's not new because you were ignorant on the tos. That this lesson as you should always read the rules so you are fully aware of the consequences.

If you type in Paypal into the search bar you will see multiple posts saying do not use paypal since the beginning of this site.

OP dont use the payment services notyou listed. You will wind up in the same predicament.

Dittoing everything said about offsite payments.

However, I also wanted to say that if you have a personal PayPal, make sure you don’t have any funds sitting in there. It’s been known for PayPal to also disable/freeze sex worker’s personal accounts that they’ve never taken work related payments on. PayPal doesn’t fuck around whatsoever when it comes to sex workers.

Ok well I had no idea of this since all my fans were always offering it but yeah I will keep those in mind I suppose

Um first of all do not call me ignorant because fans of mine always offered this form of payment and I'm pretty sure if I ever did miss that "rule" paypal obviously never made it clear enough and there were a few times people claimed I scammed them when I didn't and I had to sort all those details out with paypal including stating what happened and describing the work I do so if there was ever a problem with my job the support reps at paypal could've simply told me we do not allow that type of work on here. So yeah it isn't blatantly obvious so keep your stupid insults to yourself. If you can't offer advice without insulting me you can feel free to hop off my post. Thanks!

The reason a lot of models opt for paypal/venmo/cashapp is because the sites are greedy and take a percentage of the tokens we make (which we are taxed on as well during tax time which also sucks hardcore) and a lot of fans and models do not feel it is fair to have to give at least half their tokens to the sites they work on so yeah it was a good alternative.

Yeah the fans are known for caring and being really considerate of what can get us in trouble. Definitely trustworthy sources of the highest degree 😆 😆 😆

In all of my years of camming I have never seen anyone as obstinately naive as you are.

Lmao you must not have been camming very long then cuz plenty of people have done this and I didn't ask you for your desperate attempt for attention and rude ass comment so please go fuck yourself and go bother someone else if you don't have any actual ADVICE on my thread. I've been able to do so much with my camming career and if you cam as horrible as your attitude is, then there isn't much to say about you as a "person' Fuck off lol

Ok? So maybe they dont' know about it either? Ever considered that? And if you're going to be rude and offer no assistance to my actual topic please kindly fuck off and hop off my thread. Your opinion is useless if you're just going to be insulting. Bye

Please stop this behavior. Other veteran models are telling you that you simply missed those rules and that members only have their best interest in mind.

They aren’t being rude just blunt.

I get that it sucks having the sites we work on take a 40-50% cut, but you also have to understand the cost it takes to run an adult site. Payment processors alone count for a decent amount of the percentage they take. It cost money to process credit/debit cards. No matter the business, companies have to pay a percentage of every single card transaction. Ever gone to a bar or convenience store and there’s a minimum amount for debit/credit transactions? That’s why. Adult sites are considered high risk, due to the amount of chargebacks and such, so they have higher processing fees.

It also costs money to keep a site fully functional so thousands of models can stream at any given time. Then there’s employee costs, taxes, etc.

Also, most “fans” are more concerned about getting the most bang for their buck. Which they think they can get if they pay offsite. Rest assured, it’s rarely because they care about you getting more money.

Anyway, the best thing to do in this industry is to always always read the TOS of any site you work on or want to do work transactions on. If you have a hard time navigating a lengthy TOS Ctrl+F is your friend. You can also ask here, since most of the active verified models here have been in the industry for years and years and are well acquainted with the TOS of most sites.

ETA: Forgot to touch on the taxes part. Yeah, taxes suck. I’m very libertarian when it comes to my stance on taxation. However, another huge reason that these payment apps don’t allow digital sex service payments (aside from the general public just disliking sex workers and there being an increased risk of chargebacks/payment disputes) is that you’re not getting a 1099 from your personal PayPal account. They’re not required to report income information to the government/tax agencies like adult sites are. And you best believe if there’s one thing the government is always going to do, it’s take whatever money they can from you.

this is the second time you have posted about being banned from the site for breaking the tos. if you wanna keep experiencing this, keep not reading your user agreement. if you have a hard time finding it, email support.

you arent the only one to have people asking for Paypal or other offsite payments other than the camsite you are on. but it sounds like you told on yourself and it was only a matter of time before an employee finally cared enough to report you. people who are asking for Paypal are more than likely trying to scam you, because they know of Paypal stance on purchasing adult content. that's why you kept experiencing that.

How about no. I won't.

You're on here being ridiculous. Audri said you were ignorant, that simply means you didn't know. That's not an insult. Please kindly grow up girl.

The sob story of you didn't know, members should tell you, PayPal workers should tell you, just comes across as so entitled. Sex work isn't for people who need their hands held. This isn't the industry for that. It's an adult industry. And it's a slap in the face to the rest of us who've done our due diligence, and who take a slap on the knuckles when one is deserved. Which in your case it is. It's your fault and your fault alone you're catching bans. Grow up and own it, and stop acting like a petulant baby.

If you are that naive you trust offsite buyers on masturbation and sex sites, to have your best interests first and foremost on their minds, then you shouldn't be doing this. Period.

Most of the men on these sites do not have your best interests at heart, including the ones who say “Well I don’t want the cam site taking a percentage…and I want you to get ALL the money.” They are just out for themselves. If they truly had your best interests at heart, they wouldn’t be asking you to accept non-adult friendly payment methods, and ask models to lower their rates for their cheap, opportunist asses.

Time and time again women are expected to inconvenience themselves to cater to dusty-ass men. And to do it with a smile…

Didn't PayPal change that recently? A while back it was something like 20k before they report and now it's something much lower like 2.5k or 5k or something like that.

I have been a cam model for almost 10 years so I am a veteran model as well and I am not going to put up with others insulting me. I am simply asking a question and wanted some answers and did not ask for anyone's attitude here. Thanks

Yes, I know it takes money to run the sites and everything. I have a few fans that I know for a fact do not know that it could affect a cam models paypal account like that because if they did, they wouldn't jeopardize me like that but yeah I get what you are saying. Like I said, I have had to go to paypal reps and discuss my job and what it entailed if any member reported me for trying to scam them (which I never did) and so I am wondering why the reps at paypal never told me that they don't allow that kind of work on their platform and take away my account then? But thank you for the info, I appreciate it.

Extremely lucky or they didn't understand or something, PayPal doesn't just ban on confirmation they will ban on suspicion
Oh I see, yeah I never knew that. I have been doing this for awhile so yeah guess I've just been lucky lol
