for anyone more technically advanced and savvy than myself. I'm certainly not what you'd consider "hep" (or mebbe it's hip, I dunno) to the twitterverse, I guess you can say I'm not twitter-pated enough...again, I dunno. But what's with the square character you twit users post? What's the meaning of five square characters, one after the other, in response to your fellow twit's posts?

What gives people? Edumacate me here.

Thanks!

Took me a while to figure that out myself, until I got the Emoji app on my phone and saw my own tweets with the little squares. Some of the phone apps. will show the icons from phone to desktop and some will not. As far as I know, there isn't anything else it could be...?

I'm no expert myself, but I was always under the assumption those were emoticons from someone's phone keypad and don't translate well to desktop view.
Pretty much yep :)

There are characters not supported by web browsers unless they're coded right... which isn't the case when you're just viewing a tweet sent from a phone on a web browser.

A special thanks to all of y'all, now I've got to figure out exactly what I've been missing.
