So. I decided, I don't want to be "XOX" anymore. I like the name, yes, but I really wanted an actual stage name. Something I like.
Now, I've changed my name on Streamate once before, TO XOX. So I knew it was possible. This was done... probably close to a year ago, so I assumed enough time had passed for the request not to be bothersome. Not that it matters, but I prefer not to be a pest.
I received this reply to my "hello, I'd like to have my name changed on Streamate from XOX to XOX thanks!"
'Hello,
Thank you for your request - However, nicknames cannot be changed in our system. You would need to generate a new profile and submit new documentation in order to select a different nickname.
Please note that new accounts are subject the normal approval process so there will be delays in being able to use a new account.
Let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Thanks'
Hm.
I replied with
"Um.
I had my name changed before, to XOX."
I sent a follow up message, after doing some Googling.
"Also, since I've changed my nickname once before and I'm aware you can change your nickname, I decided to double check if I was simply mistaken, although I know I'm not.
https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showt ... -Streamate
This website came up in my search and it seems I'm not the only girl who has requested a nickname change and was denied... but I'm also not the only girl to have received a nickname change.
I'm unsure if there are multiple Streamate support workers and I'm sure you answer many mails a day, but I'd like to be connected with the person who changed my nickname last time, if possible.
I appreciate your time."
I then received this reply:
"The policy stands. Once an account has been reviewed and approved, the model name cannot be adjusted. Thanks for your understanding in our sites policies."
I left it at that for a few days, annoyed, but I decided to think about it for a bit before I replied. Now, keep in mind, I know this is bullshit. I remember something when I was signing up for Streamate in the first place that allowed for name changes.
This person is telling me I need to scrap my rating [although there's only a hundred so far, those are my hundred ratings!] and restart.
So, I decided, since I was making a new e-mail anyways, why not?
Then I ran into this page, during my signup process for Streamate.
Huh!
Interesting.
I contacted SM Support yet again and I'm awaiting my reply.
"Hello, I contacted Streamate a few days ago regarding a name change and was told that your 'policies' require me to make a new account.
I found this confusing, as I've had a name change on Streamate before and I remember that pretty clearly.
So, I decided to take the support person's advice and begin making a new account, when I ran into this page. The personal information page.
I noticed that on the personal information page, while filling out my desired display name, that right under it, it instructs me to contact support if I wish to change my name.
I'm incredibly curious to know why I've been told to create an entirely new account, when it says on the signup page that I'm able to contact support about this?

That is the page in question.
My name is currently XOX on Streamate and I would very much appreciate if my name was changed to "XOX" and my e-mail changed to XOX
If it is not possible to get this name change, I would like to know why it is stated on a streamatemodels.com web page that I can indeed get my name changed?
Thank you for your time."
Why did I create this thread? Because I'm curious to see if this is one of the few flaws Streamate has. So far, I've enjoyed working there. My checks come in on time, Support was great previously whenever I had an issue come up... which really wasn't frequent. The pay is alright, basic pay percentage for the sites. Etc, etc, etc.
I suppose it just bothers me that they're throwing around the "policies" word when it very clearly states on a page of their website that a name change is possible.
It's a very small issue, yes. It's not something that will cause me to go work for another site, but, I wanted to make it clear that this is a contradictory policy, if it is indeed a policy... and that the amount of support you actually receive from Streamate support seems to depend on the person you speak with.
This Stripperweb link, as I posted in one of the e-mails to Streamate, further cements my findings that it depends on who you get at Streamate.

I would definitely like to see more consistency from SM in this area.
Thoughts?
