Hi! I took a break from camming to focus on making clips, and I want to get back into the webcam aspect! I know I've heard some accusations about some of the camsites being racist, transphobic, exploitive, or are in other ways undesirable.

Do you have an opinion on which are the most ethical camsites out there, and which should I stay away from?

Going of personal experience (Cams 3.5 years) + (CB 8 Months) + (SM 5 Months) - MFC - not long enough to know.....

Cams - No, not ethical - but it is possible to make decent money once you figure out their quirks/shady stuff. They do chargebacks that are questionable and pay can be slow about 1/2 the time so it's not consistent. Tier system is a joke - traffic pulls in the higher tiers....

CB - Meh - just not at all transparent with their placement algorithms and prefer you to do very pornographic shows if you want to earn anything. They pay fast and always what the tokens convert out to. No chargebacks.

SM - (5 months when I first started) - very transparent with their placement algorithms (at least while i was there) - pay on time - BUT the only fucked up thing was that they used my privates on their white labels and I had GEOBLOCK enabled so technically they shouldn't have done that. Took me 3 weeks to get the vids pulled down.

I've done a LOT of reading on all of these sites and worked a good majority of the big ones and I am starting to think NONE of these sites have any ethics LOL

I feel like chaturbate is the most inclusive camsite. They don’t give preferential treatment to female streamers like other sites and have a large community of couples, male and trans performers as well and many of them do really well.

I think it's great that CB is inclusive. I am not trying to discount that, but....chaturbate also plasterers ads that use stolen content from our fellow sex workers all over there website.....and charges members who don't want to see them.....which is money that goes directly to the site, not to the models.

While they're inclusive they do often mistreat trans performers e.g changing their profile gender if they dont “pass” as what they identify as, without contacting the model about it and other things I've heard.

Where does cb use stolen content?

Streamate, as far as I know.
Im gonna nope this and I work on streamate.

I had an affiliate catfish my following on Instagram and was taking PayPal for Skype. They didn't fire him because he was making money. They told him to cut it off and if I see him doing it again, tell them.

They let their affiliates do anything if it means making a buck. They don't hold them to their rules that they set, only gives them a slap on a wrist. They made it seem like he didn't know it was against the rules to pretend to be models.

Didn't know not to catfish my fans and scam them with PayPal and Amazon gift cards.

They don't normally make the best decisions that puts their models' well being first. The whole situation left me feeling violated and exploited. It fucked with my mental health so much that I felt absolutely worthless. I didn't get an apology from them or a concern. No one cared about me and I am a top model. I have made that site millions, and they didn't care about me.

Al I wanted them to do was stick to their terms of service they wrote. It said if they were caught doing illegal activity that their account will be terminated. The best part I had actual proof. I had members messaging me and sending me their transaction screenshots. I even had PayPal fraud department helping me stop. They were so greatful that my vanilla PayPal I use to tip siims 4 modders has yet to be banned. And I told them to their face I was sex worker, but I digress.

Anywho that was my experience. This happened this January.

Some of the ads they run on the site uses pictures of cam models without the models approval.

If you have a website, and sell a spot on your website to an advertisement agency, you're probable are not going to know the exact content of every advertisement that's put on your website by the advertisement agency.

Running an advertisement company is a lot like running youtube, twitch. You put up a TOS asking people don't break the law. If you find out about a violations, you take actions. If a company is constant abuser, then you cut them off.

I just pointed out where they have stolen content, however depending on where you live the website displaying the ads could be held jointly responsible for the ads. In the UK a journalist named Martin Lewis sued Facebook over this and they ended up settling after Facebook agreed to pay £3m to set up an anti-scam project.

Think you may have misread what I said.

I did not say that cb uses stolen content.

I said that they have ads all over there site full of stolen content.

The question is not about who is responsible, esp from a legal standpoint. The question is about ethics. The answer will be dependent on individuals' personal ethics. Following the law doesn't make it ethical, just like breaking the law doesn't mean unethical.

That being said....while I agree you won't know the exact content of every ad.......cb has had these ads running for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS. They are well aware. This is not new, and in my opinion unethical.

I was going to ask, if you've tried reporting the advertisements.
But it doesn't seem like exoticads.com has a public reporting form.

Is this true? Who is determining that?
I don't know who in their staff decides it but I do also know that if enough members report them as the wrong gender it will also be changed automatically. I have witnessed it happen to a couple of models and have no reason to lie about it.

I wasn't insinuating you were lying about it. I was asking if that was something that was confirmed as happening.

A trans girl in that thread also has issues with it frequently. I can't remember other cases that I've seen but its definitely an issue.

Oh MxPraxisPhanes, I think the first time I saw them, they were in dog play mode. :3
DomRystan has had it happen too.

Most: MFC. Might not be inclusive, but their site is tailored to the women who work on it. It's set up with most respect toward those using the platform personally and financially. It's the only site I can think of where the care is tilted toward the person on the screen more than the person holding the credit card.

Least (that I've used): Livejasmin. Takes a huge cut. Encourages studio use. Locks cammers into one price pretty much. One very low price compared to anyplace else. After that, Streamate. Allows user ratings to affect placement. Puts affiliates and consumers way above performers. Basically gives free samples. Created a path for completely free consumption. Knocks placement for geoblocking and makes geoblocking pointless because of the affiliate program anyway. Doesn't allow for self promotion easily. Has girls using photos of blatantly famous people. The only thing on Streamate that negates any of this is that you can charge high prices to make up for some of what I've listed and their base will pay it.
